This is a fantastic Michelin star hotel and restaurant in a superb remote location. The food is prepared and served with a passion from both chefs and servers. Wonderful flavours and presentation. Relaxed dining means no need to dress in tops and tails and the staff are very friendly. You always imagine these places to be snobberish but that’s not the case at all. Courtyard rooms are also fantastic. This is a gem of a place.

Visited the Yorke Arms a few weeks ago after a weekend away in Harrogate. Very good service, excellent canapes as a prelude to an excellent meal. service understated but friendly and very knowledgeable. Good to find waiting staff that really do know about and understand the food and cheeses they are selling! In a nice setting in the Dales, a cosy set of rooms inside. Gives the feel of relaxed but well organised, experienced and competent. Went for the tasting menu adding the cheese as a separate course. Overall well balanced and presented. The meal was modern in style, very accomplished, not relying on lots of cream and butter to create flavour. Brave with the produce and letting things speak for themselves and focus on fresh, light flavours. Close to perfect. Reasonably good selection of wines including a good selection by the glass. Deservedly Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year 2008

This Michelin star rated restaurant and hotel is a great retreat if you want find food with very comfortable accomodation. Set in the picturesque Yorkshire dales it’s surrounded by rolling countryside so there’s plenty of walking to be done if you like that sort of thing. The food is excellent and the serve really good too. I found the wine list to be less co, mprehensive than I expected for such a gourmet orientated place, but there’s still enough to choose from.
