I used to come here when I lived in the area in the 1970’s. Large Pub just off the Otley to Harrogate Road. Used be thriving and have good reputation for good food. Not so today. I entered at 6 pm, and there was only one other guy drinking, though a few couple came in later. I expected it to be busy on the Wednesday before Christmas. Principal beers are Taylors Landlord and Black Sheep. At least that was a good start. A I studied menu I realised how chilly it was in the pub, despite outside temp being 10 deg. The very small log fire didnt help is the large back room. Menu also didnt have too much to suit may taste(particulalry in the starter department), so I just decided to have Sausage and Mash, which came with plenty of gravy, and was actually quite tasty. But the other accompaniment was some overly bright green garden peas. Iw a sout again within 35 mins, and actually put my coat back on before finishing the meal ! I wont rush back here
