A really nice pub, good selection of real ale well kept, a bit too moms best room for me but am tempted to give it four stars.

The coach is one of the few traditional pubs remaining in Harrogate. It’s packed to the rafters on Friday nights in particular, when it attracts a mixed age crowd, but mainly those in the 28+ age bracket. Teenagers are something of a rarity. Warm evenings (now a distant memory) see the punters spilling out onto the pavement. The pub overlooks The Stray, so there’s a nice outlook. (for non-​locals this is like a vast village green) There are always plenty of bar staff, so you’re not standing for ever waiting for a drink. This is a great place to meet your mates and kick off the weekend.

good home cooked food served here every lunch time, and a selection of good real ales (the red rooster is highly recommended) together with all the normal keg beers. it has a typical friendly yorkshire service and a homely, nice atmosphere. you could take anyone here.
