Great place for kids, as they love choosing their own food and the puddings are good too. Sometimes the food can be over or undercooked slightly but on the whole, you can’t really complain. It can be very slow on Sundays and we’ve waited in the full bar area for an hour. But generally it’s quick, nice, hot food. It’s a nice little place to go for a drink. The main guy on the carvery, the tall, built man is always friendly and polite. The waitresses can be a bit hit and miss. As a vegetarian it says they offer 4 different options, but they’ve only ever had two — bean hash, which i dislike or the veggie lasagne, which is what I always have… would be nice to try something else! They’ve also started doing cooked breakfasts, it was ok, the toaster is sooo slow! Much prefer the dinners.

Amazing carvery, would definatly recommend to anyone! Located next to the train station and is one of the best places to eat in Harlow! Excellent value for money, lovely restaurant! great staff.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I love this place! It is one of the most child-friendly places for a family meal out without parents needing to stress too much — they can make as much mess as they like and nobody cares! If you are REALLY averse to sharing a restaurant with kids, don’t come here. That said, it’s not always rammed with kids, so don’t be put off too easily if you don’t mind them too much. They have a menu to choose from if carvery isn’t your thing, but the carvery is great. It is cheap and plentiful. You normally have a choice from three meats(you can have one, two or all three) — turkey, beef and ham. Then there are the largest yorkshire puddings known to man, a selection of vegetables and lots of sauces and gravies. There are also nut roasts and stuff for the veggies among you. Kids can either have a small portion, or if like us, you get a friendly waitress and your wee one is particularly young they might just give you a plate and tell you to give them some of yours — then you don’t even have to pay for them! That can’t be guaranteed though, and I wouldn’t go asking for it if I were you! They have some great deserts too, even if they are the usual chain-pub fayre. A good range of drinks complete the experience, and if you’re so inclined you could go and sit in the bar afterwards. The location is rubbish, set just off of the main road into Harlow, but you don’t go there for that. There are benches outside for when it’s sunny but you wouldn’t want to eat out there unless you liked exhaust fumes with your meal. It really is cheap, good, tasty food — and as long as you don’t go expecting Michelin Star Chefs you’ll have a very enjoyable meal.
