Solent Rib Charter

A few days ago, I spent another day on one of Solent RIB Charter’s 7.8m RIBs. This was a different experience to last time and has fully restored my confidence in their service! The boats themselves are excellent and are all very capable sea boats — as well as being smile-​inducingly fast! They also have a very large fleet so you’re unlikely to be disappointed when booking, and it’s also likely that they’d have a spare if anything did go wrong.
In terms of my previous comments relating to crotch straps on the life jackets, it seems that these are available on request and were fitted in advance of our collection. I still maintain that they should be fitted as standard, but if the majority of their clients don’t want them, then I guess I can understand the policy.
I still don’t agree with the credit card fee — hence the 4-​star review rather than 5-​stars. If I was looking to purchase one of their 10-​day cards, the credit card fee alone will be close to £100 and this seems excessive. I would feel better if the boats were a little more expensive, but it was the same price no matter how you choose to pay, but the current arrangement seems to only deter the leisure user.
On the whole, it was a great experience and I would certainly consider using them again.

If you want a day on the water or a staff event that’s a bit different you should try a treasure hunt with Richard and his team. Great fun and a bit wild if it gets rough!
