I would give it 3.5 stars but am rounding down as I think they can do better for how much they charge. Overall, food was good. I had duck breast with honey and soya sauce which was solid. However, the portion was small. Also, my dessert(chocolate fondant) was underwhelming. Service was generally prompt and good. Ambience was elegant, although not the most spacious. It would be good for intimate meals or teas. All in all, good but too pricey for what it is.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon. My husband called in to make reservations for afternoon tea. When we got here, we were actually the only ones in. I guess this place is not too popular for afternoon tea. Was a but disappointed that none of the plateware was fancy China as expected for High tea. We opted for their regular afternoon tea meal £25. If you paid £10 more you would get a glass of champagne, and if you paid £20 more you get unlimited champagne. Since it was our first meal of the day, the tea was fine with us. I choose the African pride black tea. Very good and rich. Love it with milk and sugar. My husband picked a tea that had a weird name and he did not fancy it too much. The waitress gave him Anoher option for tea and he picked the strawberry fruit tea which he enjoyed. Service was good, they refilled our teas for us At no extra charge. The food itself was mediocre. There were 5 finger sandwiches each 2 scones each and a selection of desserts. The desserts were not my favourites, it had a chocolate mouse 1 mini macaroon, 1 shot of frozen espresso like drink 1 carat cake 1 jam cake. All we’re very sweet and too rich. I enjoyed the sandwiches the most. They have delightful curry sandwiches which I have never seen at other high teas before.

I’d never heard of St Paul’s Hotel on Hammersmith Road, nor the great little restaurant inside. St Paul’s Hotel is a smnall boutique near Olympia. It was previously St. Pauls school and the location of the historic meeting of Eisenhower, Montgomery and Winston Churchill to plan the D Day landings. The ‘Melody Restaurant’ is named after a 1971 British cult movie called ‘Melody’, which was also filmed here. I came here with a group of 20 friends on Saturday to enjoy the ‘High Tea’. I’m not a fan of eating too many sandwiches or cakes, but the prospect of unlimited champagne for two hours certainly appealed. The setting is stunning and has a real British feelk to it, which helped greatly with the atmosphere. We had a private room to ourselves. The staff were efficient, friendly and polite and thankfully for us, did not hold back on the free flowwing champagne. We were given the usual crustless finger sandwiches you’d expect. The coronation chicken ones were escpecially nice. Again the plates were replenished once empty. The scones were fresh with plenty of cream and jam(I’m a cream then jam spreader person). On the to tier there was a large assortment of cakes and sponges. After we had finished, we retired to the courtyard to enjoy a drink as night drew in. All-in-all it was a great time and I would highly recommend the high tea here for any visitors coming to London
