Decent food, ok value for money. Staff not Mexican but worse seems a bit hit or miss if they remember to bring what you ordered.
Saturday night loud annoying singer tried to entertain, made conversations more difficult. Glad not to be female so I had to suffer the singer’s interaction with any blond female in the restaurant.

Fun, friendly place. Decent range of Mexican food. The staff will all come out from the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday too :-) service was great and the waitress put up with our rather merry banter :-)

This is the second time I have been to Son of Sombrero in as many months. The staff are really attentive and so warm and friendly — you never feel rushed yet you don’t have to wait for your food. It isn’t the most authentic Mexican food but it is nevertheless very tasty indeed. They do great Sangria too! Colourful, tacky décor but in an unassuming, fun-loving way, just like the lovely people there. Well worth a visit, it would be a great shame to see this place fall victim to the credit crunch. Speaking of which, it won’t hurt your wallet too much either. Arrribaaa!

Ok, no revelations here, you get what you pay for. If your a regular of TGI Fridays or any ‘it’s delivered frozen cuisine’ you will pretty much know the score as far as Mexican ish food stands. What sets Sombrero apart is the service, the price and the atmosphere. All of which are good.
If you want a good time with friends and are looking for tequila and frozen margaritas in Guildford then this is the place for you.
