I never thought I’d say this considering John Lewis has a reputation for being expensive quality and British made, which always comes with a hefty price tag, but I’m now a regular John Lewis shopper. We have furniture from there. Linen. Throws and cushions. We’re registered there for our wedding. And at Christmas, most of our decorations are from there. I love it. Because all the talk of John Lewis being expensive is wrong. It’s reasonable nowadays. I know. I was surprised too. I’ve bought mugs for £5 from here that are handmade. I’ve found duck-feather cushions for £20. That’s only £4 more than the polyester stuffed ones from Next and similar shops. They sell EVERYTHING so they’re ideal for a wedding list, they stock Joseph Joseph in their kitchen section, and Buddy Valastro things which are both really good quality and decently priced brands and they even have a partnership with Kuoni so you can put your honeymoon on your gift list so it’s a one-stop shop for ease and convenience. They also have a section filled with cheap and quirky stocking fillers, perfect for additional presents for people. And board games. I’ve got my eye on a chess set for £30 currently. It’s beautiful. They’re the bastions of design. They stock known designers and give others a chance. You can buy an iPad, a cushion and a side plate all in the same store. The staff are ALL helpful and smiley. They do a service where you can buy things and they’ll store it for you while you continue shopping so you don’t have to carry it round. It even has a CAFE, for God’s sake! I unashamedly love them. And their Christmas advert is the highlight of the commercialised Christmas-begins-in-October season. As an avid Christmas lover, I absolutely love that too. John Lewis, you’re my fave. Keep doing what you’re doing please.

This is my favourite John Lewis store as it is big has 4 levels from kitchen, clothes, garden, tech, lights, bedroom and home. They even have a medium size Waitrose at this establishment with a fresh meat and fish counter. also they do regular deals from time to time. Staff helpful and seem to know what they are talking about especially when it comes down to technology such as tablets, cameras and TVs. they also seem to match items if you see it cheaper in other establishments(not Internet pricing). Highly recommend.

This store is one of my favourites, it has practically everything for the home and is a wonderful browsing shop. Beware of buying things that you just didn’t know you needed though!

I LOVE John Lewis, this store is HUGH. Its located over numerous floors, its well laid out, staff are extremely friendly, polite & helpful. The goods on sale are good, they do price match & offer good warranty on electrical goods. Their customer service is beyond fantastic, NO quibble return policy, their repair or replace of defects is second to none. What can i say, i will always check with them before i buy any electrical goods. As for clothing, they are expensive, but their selection is comprehensive. I know they are a private company, but i feel they are trust able and honest with their products and dealings with their customers, a pitty more companies are not like them. The location of this store is excellent, there are numerous other stores in locality, however, you will be in this store for hours, which is also good as there are also food outlets in bluewater to keep you fed before you shop more! Parking is also no problem, as there is plenty of spaces. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

As I’ve discussed before, I have a pathological hate of department stores. However, there is one notable exception and that is John Lewis. I think I like John Lewis because it doesn’t change. It has moved with the times but it hasn’t sold out and focused on «core areas». It’s still the prototypical, classic department store, rather than the glorified indoor mini-mall that is House of Fraser. Yes, it can be absolutely shockingly expensive at times. I nearly soiled myself out of shock when I saw an £800 sideboard. However, they have so much good stuff and excellent policies like price-matching, which saw my wife buy two sets of fit flops for the price of one, that it really has something for everybody.
