Gravesend Pier, also known as the Town Pier, is where you can boatd River Thames excursions. The SS Waverley, a paddle steamer, runs trips to London Bridge and to Southend and beyond. There is a restaurant at the start of the pier and convenient parking in West Strèet. Gravesend High Street is a short distance away.
It is a good day out on a cruise up the Thames Estuary on the SS Waverley. It has bar and restaurant on board. One of the trips goes past the WW2 forts which were later used for pirate radio.
