This hotel is in a rural location but not a scenic location, so don’t expect fine views. It is mostly a modern building and it is a large hotel that caters for functions as well as hotel guests. The room was excellent in all respects except that the four posts in the executive rooms obstruct your view of the television. But that is a small point. It was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, on a self-service basis, offering all the usual fayre of a good hotel breakfast. We had two dinners in the restaurant and although not a bargain these were very good on the whole as well. Check-out is at 1100 on the day of departure and we were very disappointed to be denied use of the swimming pool after checking out. The policy is that hotel guests can only use it from check-in to check-out, which is a pretty mean-spirited policy. I think most hotels with leisure facilities would make them available on the day of departure. Understandably they want the bedroom cleared by 11, but there is no need for this parsimony towards customers who had all in all paid over 300 pounds.

Pleasant enough motel-style hotel just off the A1 near Grantham. Large car park and friendly staff. Rooms are quite nice, if a tiny bit 1970s. Bar pleasant although pricey. Food in the restaurant is of acceptable quality although the staff like to pretend it’s posher than it really is. A disappointing feature is tea and coffee from flasks in the morning that’s just lazy! Good value for money a bit like a Trust House caught in a timewarp.
