The best way to sum up our visit is with the words of my two young daughters, ‘Can we come back tomorrow?’. They loved exploring the winding paths through this ‘woodland’ property.

This arboretum is a very pleasant place to visit in a morning or afternoon. There is a lake, large wooded areas and the usual tearoom. Since the place is National Trust you do have to pay to get in unlike many other places around the area. It is very well maintained and beautiful however so worth a visit. In spring the woodland is densely filled with bluebells and large beds of azaleas bring bright varied colours.
