Excellent food and drinks and a great little space. The service could be improved with a bit more oversight of the relatively young staff. We sat with empty drinks glasses for too long and our cheque took an age to arrive. However I would definitely go back and recommend the stag to friends and family.

I stayed in the suburb of Godalaming for 10 days and explored this part of England. The Stag was an amazing little pub that my host took me to. The ambiance, beer and food were outstanding and I loved the mill it was next to. Not sure when I’ll be back in the countryside of England (I live in Texas) but I hope my travels take me here again!

I really loved this pub. The al fresco dining on a summer evening is a joy, and the food and service very good. A bit pricey, but not really expensive by Surrey standards.
There are no bookings for outside tables, so you can just arrive and dine. But be warned — it is usually very busy in the summer!
