The Golden Fleece is a weird hybrid… part pub, part Thai restaurant. I’ve almost given up reviewing a pubs in England. What’s the point? You don’t like it, you just have to walk next door to one of the other 57,000 pubs in the UK(seems a lot more than that, if you ask me). But this Thai restaurant just served me some of the best Pad Kee Maw that I’ve ever eaten. Mind you, I’ve eaten Thai food all over the U.S., UK, New Zealand, and Australia… short of actually eating in Thailand, it’s fair to say, I know good from bad. There was a vegetable Tempura that was to die for, and my wife had the Pad See Ew, but was not overly impressed. Because the pub licensing rules apply, children must stay out of the bar, and must exit the pub premises at 19:00. This doesn’t leave much of a window on week nights, as they begin serving dinner at 18:00. No high chairs, either, so they could really work on their family-friendliness. The wait staff was pleasant, and the good Kee Maw will have us back again. I’ll update once we’ve had a few other visits.
