the origanal library was in william patricks house which is a gorgeous building and was left to the local community. Sadly the council sold it off and put up this ugly brick brute. Much of the uper floors are taken up with social services etc and the library isn’t that big and all on the lower floor

The William Patrick Library is based in a lovely new purpose built building right on the end of Kirkintilloch’s high street. Because of it’s position and the fact that it is a new building — this particular library is accessible to everyone. It also has a great feel inside, which is something that hits you as soon as you step in the front door. The librarians are really friendly and helpful, and will even have a little bit of a joke with you which makes you feel right at home. They’re also happy to put up posters for local events and charities — which makes the library a great place to go if you want to find out what is happening in your community. There’s a large selection of books — both for adults and children — and the William patrick Library even has a comprehensive computer section. Definitely worth a visit!
