For those of you who’ve already noticed my Psalmist review, this site won’t need much explaining. But, for those of you who may not have read that review yet, I’ll expand slightly… Dr Tom John Honeyman(1891 – 1971) was the Director of Glasgow Art Galleries and Museums from 1939 – 1954. Following his death, a pretty viewing area and conservation site was built in 1972 to commemorate him. Then, in 2006 the Glasgow Tree Lovers Society lovingly restored this viewing area to its former glory. It has layered stone rockery style planting beds filled with an array of colourful flowers(pardon me, but I have no idea what the proper names are) in the summer. There are also works by various Glasgow artist, for example Benno Schotz’s semi-abstract stick-figure sculpture. A lovely place to stumble upon during a summer stroll and even enjoyable to wander around in the winter when its snowy, cold and blanketed in ice.
