Thomas Hays Pet & Aquarium Corner

Great shop for aquarium fish, supplies and advice. I Always get my tropical fish from here, and they’re always healthy, so I think that’s a sure winner!

I have been a customer at thomas hays for many years and found it to be helpfull realistic and above all honest the shop is time locked in the 70s and is a famouse landmark now and is frequently picked as a meeting point outside as anyone from my era who lives in glasgow knows were thomas hays is
I will always use this shop as a first stop for any pets as i cant put up with the idiots in the large new pet stores who have obviously learned all they know from an a4 sheet of paper
Always go with the time served and experienced not the money grabbing upstarts
Remember when buying a pet its a little life you are taking home not a toy also thanks to the other posters on here who gave an honest review thanks to Amanda150 and Emmzy honest people do win in the end.

I quite like walking into this place and having a wee nosy. I never buy anything, but I like looking at what they’ve got.
From what I can tell, they take very good care of the animals here. Little gerbils and rats and hamsters. And even sometimes they have kittens, too.
The staff are very knowledgeable, so if you’ve got a question, don’t hesitate! They’re up for a good chat, and they’re more likely than not to have a great suggestion for you.
Take a wee wander in. I think you may be surprised.

Thomas Hay is a bit mumble jumble, but there is nothing wrong with that for a pet store. I actually love to see a pet store, because it feels like they just don’t exist anymore because all of these huge new stores have been opening up everywhere. I feel a bit sad for the owners of these little establishment, but they also give me a great warm feeling because they are taking care of so many animals to run their business. Silly I know, but I just love it.
The product range in Thomas Hay shop is great, and they have lots of little animals and birdies to buy too. If you need some pet food, or just a little hamster to keep you company, go to see Thomas Hay. The staff are really nice and helpful.

This is probably one of the biggest independent pet stores i have ever visited.
I am always on the lookout for toys and treats to further spoil my puppy, Ollie, so this seemed like the perfect place. The windows are literally stacked to the ceiling with ‘stuff’. Clearly no-​one in the shop knows how to rustle up a good window display. From the outside it looks very old, and i suppose it is! It has been here for as long as I can remember.
It specialises in Aquariums, tropical fish and small animals like hamsters. I picked up a nice wee toy for my dog for a couple of quid, which wasn’t too shabby at all.
A bit of an Aladdin’s Cave of a place, but you will get what you are looking for in here!

On a bizarre and sunny day my friend became obsessed with the idea of buying a hamster. I warned him that this was not an ideal impulse buy as they require work and love. He was not to be swayed. I have some limited knowledge about how to look after small animals so I suggested that I go with him.
This is how I came to be at Thomas Hays Pet & Aquarium Corner and I must admit that it was a quality pet shop. My friend didn’t have the remotest clue about what he needed but the nice man was happy to help him with his crazy request. My personal favourite was «what do I feed them?.»
In the end he brought 3 dwarf hamsters and though they turned out to be mental the shop was happy to take one back.

this is a great old fasioned petshop in the centre of glasgow, selling everything from fish terrapins and salamanders to birds rats hamsters and even sometimes kittens and puppies! cages are always clean and fresh looking and the animals look healthy and happy they also sell all sorts of equipment like leashes and collars hamster toys ect and they have a cool big parrot thats really old i think the guy said 70 something years old who lives in the shop above the counter
