The Works sells cut price books, stationary and art supplies. I usually find that 90% of what they have in stock isn’t of particular interest to me but nevertheless, there can be some hidden gems which make it worth havig a rummage.
I’d avoid going in knowing exactly what you want to buy, the way you might at a larger book shop. If you’re looking for one particular title (or even on particular author) you’re going to be disapointed. However, if you go in thinking, «I could use a new cookbook.» Or, «I wonder if they’ve got any Disney branded art kits for kids.» You’re in with a good chance.
With a little patience and an open mind you can find some really great bits and pieces for low prices.
