Cracking wee shop this. There’s always at least twelvity-billion things in here that I’d like to buy. To describe what it sells makes it sound like any other gift shop, but it truly is not. The items here are beautiful, sometimes quirky, but above all, they are interesting. The Shop of Interest is a great supporter of local artists too, so there’s a good chance that you will get something hand-crafted and unique. My recent purchases have included a necklace shaped like a cloud, with a wooden backing and a mirrored surface. It was the winning choice between that or a funky perspex neon planet and stars one — I may yet go back for that. I also have bought a beautiful picture — it’s of little birds in flight, and the detail looks like paper-cut, but I’m not sure it actually is paper-cut. It’s in lovely muted colours and will look grand in my hallway. As well as jewelry and art, also on sale are mugs, cards, other home décor items, and clothes, such as a very cool space-cat T-shirt, which, if they stocked a black version, I would buy in a heartbeat. More than anything, I love the art-work in here. Once I have actually had my flat painted in a colour other than magnolia, I’m sure the walls will gradually be filled with pieces from the wonderful Shop of Interest. I’ve got my eye on one for the bathroom already…

After hearing good things about this place, we decided to nip over to Finnieston and check it out. There was a great selection of original prints, sketches and artwork to browse and I liked the laid back displays within the shop. I spied some nice pieces of jewellery that I quite liked and was quite taken with the variety of prices. I purchased a lovely wee sketched picture of Glasgow and of course I had to but the Cats Play Synths tshirt. With 20% off, using my Unilocal check in discount, it would have been rude not to.

I love this shop and have been in many times before and will continue to visit when I’m in the area. It’s full of locally hand made items, screen prints, jewelry, cards, children items, etc. If you’re looking for something special to round out a room in your home, or a quirky gift to give to someone amazing in your life, this is the place to get it. I adore the candles and the pillows on offer. The jewelry is truly what steals the show in my books. Very unassuming and quaint, the only thing that had no interest in this shop of interest was the guy behind the counter tapping away on his phone. Did not look up a single time to even acknowledge our presence. Doesn’t make me love this shop any less, but it was a little off putting.

Am a huge fan of this shop. Finnieston is not somewhere I need to pass through or is even particularly easy for me to get to but I still make a point of coming just for a browse or if I have some gifting to organise. I love that there is a huge bent towards local talent in their stock and always find much more than I ever intended to take home — thank goodness for the 20% check in discount. Think of all the money I’m saving! From cards and gift wrap to t shirts, t towels via arty prints and gorgeous jewellery I challenge you to struggle to find a gift for anyone in here. One of the other things I love is that the stock ranges in price from incredibly reasonable to super spendy so you really are covered for all options.

I can’t walk through Finnieston without popping in here. The name goes some way to giving away what it’s all about: a little shop full of interesting things. But this doesn’t quite do justice to what you’ll find in this little gem. Stuffed full of prints, mugs, t-shirts and cards, mostly made by local artists and designers, this is a perfect place to pick up a gift that’s unique and special. I popped in here on Saturday afternoon and, as is normally the case, I had nothing in mind I just fancied a browse. After thumbing through some prints and objet d’art I spotted an awesome yellow and white laser-cut image. This now looks totally at home in my living room. Be prepared to rummage a little when you come in — not in a jumble sale kinda way, it’s actually part of the charm of this shop. The owner is happy to let you browse, pick things up and wander around. You won’t be rushed and the staff won’t try to up-sell. If your purchase is a gift, they’ll even wrap it for you. Most of the items are pretty affordable, starting at a few pounds but for some bespoke items are a bit more expensive. And a handy wee 20% Unilocal discount when you check in makes it all the more affordable. And I’d love to know the story behind the ceramic cow tiles by the door — which I guess to be from a previous use for the shop.

This shop is brilliant. I could easily spend an hour having a browse and always find plenty of things I’d like for me, as well as the gifts I tend to be shopping for! The store sells an array of items from cards and prints to jewellery and baby clothes. You’ll find some top quality Scottish designer’s ranges, some you might recognise and others just waiting to be discovered. On my last visit I bought Christmas presents for 3 different friends and they all loved their items and to be perfectly honest they are lucky managed to wrap them and not keep them for myself! Each time I’ve been in the staff have been lovely, even getting the door for me with A in his buggy. Well worth a visit if you are in the Finnieston area and don’t forget to check in on Unilocal for 20% off everything! Amazing :)

(play on shop’s name removed) I’d passed this place a couple of times before, looked in the window, but never gone in. Curiosity finally got the better of me & I ventured in. My M.O. was that I was looking for a present for a friend, but I ended up having a browse for myself too. The shop is full of Glaswegian/Scottish art & crafts, produced by local artists. There are gifts to suit all price ranges & tastes, from badges & cufflinks(£) to art prints & home décor(£££). What makes this shop a little different to the others is that this is more art(ist) focussed & a little less twee(d), but not hipster either(yay!). I found myself going off plan & browsing through the sets of art & photography prints(20% off), having satisfied myself that the one or two things I’d seen that my friend *might* like, was sufficient time spent browsing for them. The shop owner just let me browse away & I was quite happy to do this(with him playing the Portishead Live in NYC album.) I would suggest this as a destination for those of you looking for something a little different to the standard Glaswegian/Scottish gift shop wares. It’s probably not so useful if you’re buying for grannie Mildred(who’d be more likely to appreciate the twee of other places), but for your cool cousin Shawn, it’s the place to come. P. S. There is 20% off in store with/without a certain app.

A great wee place to. Find some amazing gifts for just about anyone. This place is a treasure chest of random bits and bobs. Everything from jewelry, pictures mugs and cards. To be honest you just need to visit the place to see the random selection of goods. The service is great and selection of goods is very diverse. My only issue is the prices are a little bit steep for some of the goods although you get what you pay for. It doesn’t have the biggest and most obvious shop front however once you have found it you won’t struggle again.

The Shop of Interest is really good, and well worth a visit. It’s an independent shop selling original artworks, prints, crafts, cards and gifts, of local artists. Price-wise, items range from very affordable to mid-priced. Nothing too expensive here; obviously the original works are the most expensive items. I’ve bought cards and prints from The shop of Interest and been really pleased with the items. I plan to buy several Christmas presents from here this year; the challenge will be not keeping it all for myself! My only slight grumble with the Shop of Interest is the slow rate of new works cominmg in stock, particularly prints; each time I visit it’s mostly the same stuff. Despite this, it’s still a great wee place, and currently there’s an awesome Unilocal check-in promotional discount(as at Nov/Dec 2014).

This shop holds my interest. It’s crammed full of locally produced arts and crafts — like necklaces, cufflinks, prints etc. Most of which really appealed to me. The curios in stock range in price from a couple of quid, to a couple of hundred. All worth it. Especially with the current Unilocal Local 20% off promotion. I’ll be back with my xmas list…

I had to wait until after Christmas to write this review, as I would have given away where Santa sourced some of his presents from! It’s a shame, as this is a great wee place to get interesting and unique pieces from Glasgow craftspeople. Usually I’m not a fan of gift shops, as they never really seem to sell anything interesting, and to be honest most are pretty interchangeable. As all of the stock here is obtained from local artists you tend to get things that are a bit different, although still selling the usual gift shop fayre of jewellery, prints and other bits and bobs. Prices cover the spectrum of wee mindings to artwork at a couple of hundred quid, but there usually is something for whatever budget and taste you have. Make sure you check in, as there is a discount on all prices applicable. Well worth a look, and the kind of shop that there should be more of in Finnieston.

My reviews frequently start out with a tale of «I saw this shop/restaurant/bar many times and never visited it before, and then when I finally did I realised it was amazing.» This was my experience of visiting The Shop of Interest on Saturday. I’ve passed by this shop over 200 times on my way back and forth from roller derby training but yet I never popped in. I guess I expected it to be like other gift shops that sell a lot of tat and nothing really that I’d want to give as a gift. Venturing in here I discovered it really is more of a mash-up between an art gallery and a gift shop with an amazing selection of lovely local made stuff. There were loads of things in here that I’d buy for myself including awesome wooden jewellery made by Kate Rowland, prints, tshirts, cards. Most stuff I saw seemed to be really reasonably priced as well which was an extra bonus. The best part though? They have a check-in offer of 20% off on Unilocal.WOAH. I picked up a really lovely print as a present and a card for under £20 and was stoked with my purchases. Can’t wait to pop back for more present buying(for myself).

No reviews yet, seriously? This shop is awesome! Yet another addition to the tres cool vibe of Argyle Street, The Shop of Interest does what it says on the tin — it’s an interesting shop! It’s fit to burst with wares from local designers, so if you’re looking for a one of a kind purchase as a present(or, if you’re me, for yourself), it’s got some pretty swish finds. It’s an eclectic mix of mugs and cushions styled to look retro, and some new urban prints for your wall. A lot of the stock in this shop has a local theme, so expect to see lots of accessories that have the word«bampot» emblazoned on them. It’s a nice touch if you’re looking for an alternative Glasgow souvenir, and you won’t find the same thing twice! Love visiting here on a weekly basis when possible since they’re constantly getting new goods in. Braw!
