The Moon

There are two reasons for going to the Moon nightclub:
1) You’re new to the city and have chosen to visit the nearest nightclub to Queen Street Station.
2) You are a complete and utter moron.
The Moon is everything that is wrong with Glasgow crammed on one sticky dancefloor. Avoid at all costs.

And the winner of the prestigious «Place where your most likely to get stabbed on a Glasgow night out» award goes to… drum roll please… The Moon!!!
Please, please, please if you only listen to one piece of advice in your whole life, then please let it be this; DO NOT GO TO THIS JOINT.
There is nothing of the Glasgow that i love that exists in this «club» (never has the use of the word club been more apt then to describe this place… club, aye and a knife, possibly a gum too.) What you will find though is the metaphorical equivalent to stepping on dog shit in open toed sandals.
You have been warned… so many times.

The Moon is locally known as the worst nightclub around. You’ll see men in suits and bow ties hanging around outside, trying to give you free passes, but don’t be fooled by their attempt at dapper style, it has no reflection on this place whatsoever.
I was unlucky enough to end up here when I was 17, out for my friend’s birthday and unable to get in anywhere else, being underage and all. We had no problem at all getting in here, as I imagine they were desperate to get people in the door in the first place. Inside, the «DJ» was playing hideously cheesy music, that even the tackiest of student nights would shun. The clientele was a sleazy mix of lecherous old men and mini skirt wearing minors, who seemed to be getting along famously. When I was approached and asked if I had a boyfriend, by a man older than my dad, I turned on my heel and left immediately. Awfully cheesy and sleazy, the moon is bad, not in a «so bad, it’s good» kind of way, just plain bad.
