Tried this bar today, after reading the positive reviews but very disappointed. There were some famillies there, eating but it was just another noisy public bar to me. Football on the 2TV screens so a lot of shouting. Not a place for females to enjoy. Tried to get to the upstairs lounge but it was closed. Cheap meals only on certain dishes Mon — Thurs. Fish and chips was very greasy and my cousin could hardly cut through the BBQ chicken. We won’t be back.

The Junction Bar is a fairly big, fairly buzzing bar near George Square. Being near the train station, I would say it’s one of the best places to get a pint before you head off on your journey. They serve food for a large portion of the day and I’m pretty sure there are bar snacks like crisps to be had as well. It’s quite cosy, there’s a good variation of music on, it’s lively(especially at the weekend), it has a healthy, comfortable amount of business and it’s got a wide selection of booze. There doesn’t appear to be much trouble here and generally people leave you alone if you’re in drinking with a group of mates. For its prime location in the heart of town, that is remarkable! It’s good, staff are friendly, the toilets are up to scratch and service is prompt. No cause for complaint at all!

Neither here nor there. On a good spot near George Square, Queen Street Station and such, but it’s nothing spectacular. Been a few nights to see a mate at a decent open mic night which is always enjoyable and lively. Wouldn’t go otherwise, with too many other good pubs on the go nearby.

I’ve never passed through here at night because it looks like a bit of a riot but you know what? During the day it’s actually quite a nice wee place. I come in here sometimes for lunches and for food and service, it’s just as cheap and a lot better than say, Wetherspoons. During mid-afternoon you’ll usually find a few pensioners dotted about, enjoying a pint, paper and maybe some fish ‘n’ chips. Cheap & quick warm food. Go for it!

This place kinda creeps me out a bit. If travelling, then yes, this place could be a pitstop for a drink and some food, but really, I’d rather walk that little bit further to a Wetherspoons, or something. This place, ok, is almost a Wetherspoons — but not as classy. You can get a cheap pint or two, but I would avoid the food. It’s a bit… dull… And not very tasty. I suppose, during a sports match I can see it being busy and quite banterful, but I’d rather go somewhere else to be honest — Waxy’s round the corner maybe?! Yes. Definitely Waxy’s. I have no idea why it’s always busy, but answers on a postcard if you do…
