Nice wee café in front of the Royal Infirmary. Popped in with family and enjoyed decent coffee and good breakfast rolls.

Popped in here on my way to work one day and can’t comment on the food as I just had a take-away coffee. Asked for a double macchiato but this wasn’t on their menu and the lady serving did seem a wee bit stumped… so I just asked for a double espresso with some(cold) milk in it. She was very accomodating & friendly(unlike some horror stories I have heard about this place…) This place is quite large and a great spot for if you’re in the area or working/visiting the Royal Infirmary. I only wish they’d been there when I was based at the Royal… oh well. Spotted a tasty looking selection of biscuits/tray-bakes on the counter. All looked very nice indeed. They also serve hot & cold food and they’re opening hours are pretty good. Next door to the café I believe there is a deli and small gift shop of some sort? I may be wrong as I have only seen this in passing. Also the people that own the coffee shop appear to own the flats above too — quite strange… but I guess Coia’s café in the East End also does this. Has potential and great for a passing coffee or sit-in if you’re ever at the Royal or nearby and you don’t fancy canteen food(I don’t blame you) or NHS coffee.
