I was here over twenty years ago and it was just your average tandoori restaurant. Now it is plush and the service is fantastic. I arrived about eight o’clock on a Saturday night and it was packed. I was asked if I had a reservation, I said no, was asked to take a seat in the comfortable waiting area across from the bar, and within two minutes was being shown to a big roomy table along the back wall. seats were very comfortable. They have quite an extensive buffet set up but I opted just for a main course,(as I’d already had a carvery that day). I ordered the tandoori dish of the chicken tikka, just that I could compare it to the same dish in other restaurants. It came sizzling on the cast Iron plate. The sizzling plate was left with me for ME to take the pieces of meat from it by myself. The food was delicious and the prices were very good too.(bottle of Peroni £2.50). I’d recommend this restaurant to everyone. I’m going to try the takeaway menu next. I’m dying to try one of these ‘Hoagies’ on it.

new buffet place in town taj palace has been done up to a very high standard, went tonight with my husband, my sister and my 10 yr old son ryan. to start us off while we waited for the starters to be made fresh we had spiced onions and pompadoms good choice of starters with chicken chat, mixed pakoras, onion baji, etc plus a good choice salad bar. then the mains were six different curries with garlic naan, plain naan, rice then desserts were two types of cake with cream, fruit, ice cream, strawberry and chocolate sauce. the buffet was £9.95 each and ryan ate free. drinks were reasonably priced. staff were brilliant, very friendly and very helpful. we enjoyed the experience and would certainly recommend. ryan loved the food and this was the most he has ever ate in a restuarant as he prefers mc donalds. he s desperate to get into school tomoro to tell all his schoolfriends about his night at the taj palace, the staff were brilliant with him, even helping him to put the ice cream on his plate thank you to the staff at the taj palace we will be back
