So there is no doubt about it when I say that this was one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a Long time! First what I would say is how cool the atmosphere is. Small but Very relaxed and actually a bit hipster, the coat hooks behind your table is actually designed to warm coats and jackets. Thankfully we booked a table(well Austen M did as a surprise) as by the time we had our first dish it was pretty busy. Our waitress who was very friendly took us through the menu and explaining the specials but not before we had a drink our hands! We decided that we liked the sound of all the specials and went for all 7 of them — It is small plates after all! The portions are excellent sharing sizes! So here goes — Arbroath Smokie mash! Creamy mash potatoes with a huge portion of fish. Amazing! Breaded plaice with a tomato and mussel sauce– I don’t think I have tasted fish this perfectly cooked before! Mussels in cider and bacon — small error here It is a MASSIVE portion, but get the bread right into that sauce! Queenies(small scallops) in a butter sauce! The sauce was so light and there was no scrimping on the amount of scallops! Singapore crab claw– three meaty crab claws a perfect spicy sauce and stick rice balls! Lamb chops — cooked perfect with a tangy sauce! Last but certainly not least the rump beef in shellfish oil! So bloody delicious! My favourite restaurant by a mile! 7 dishes, couple of glasses of wine each, a desert(to share) and whisky after all for £80! Definitely worth visit!

Right all bets are off! It’s won, it’s simple, Table 11 is doing the best food in Glasgow, in the coolest settling and I love it. From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were on to a winner. It’s tiny(at the moment, more on that later) and there is very few tables, luckily we had booked ahead so our seat was secure. The staff were so nice and helpful telling us about all the specials and explaining that the food will come when it’s ready. It’s almost like tapas(but WAY better) each dish comes out and is perfect to share. The chef times it so your table is full, but your never overloaded. There was 8 specials and we decided to have one of each between us, along with some fries, some bread, a couple of glasses of white wine and a cheeky Wee whisky at the end to finish off. Yes we were stuffed by the time we finished! Everything about this place is brilliant, but quite rightly the food is the real standout aspect. Time to run you through the plates we had in the order they came out. Arbroath Smokie mash — delightful tasty fish with amazing buttery mash. Brilliant. Breaded plaice on a mussel and tomato sauce. Fish was cooked to perfection. Loved it! Mussels with cider and bacon.(Bread & fries also came out at this point) Massive tasty portion with loads of beautiful sauce for dipping in those fries and bread. Queenies in butter with more bread. One of the top two dishes of the night. They are mini scallops and they taste flipping brilliant. Loved these and want more right now! Singapore style crab claws — probs my least favourite dish. Nothing bad about it. Tasted good, it was just blown out the water by some of the other dishes. Lamb chops — we got the last portion and it got wiped of the specials board so I can’t remember it’s exact make up, but it was really good. Basically chops with a thick pesto looking side sauce. Rump beef in shellfish oil. This was spectacular. Cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Up there in the top two dishes of the night. I would eat this every day if I could. Panna Cotta. — good dessert. Light and just enough after way to much other food. The wine and whisky tasted great to! The bill came out at 40 quid each, but we had tonnes of amazing food and drinks, so much so that it was worth every penny.(You won’t read that from me in possibly any other review I have written) The staff were brilliant, ready to help whenever you needed them. Very friendly and timed all the dishes to perfection. They even let us know the hot news that the place is about to expand. They are knocking through the wall, so table 11 is about to get bigger. I will be back when it is, but it’s also a wee bit worrying as they have perfection already. Will they change the menu? Will the Bigger size mess with the atmosphere? Hopefully not of course, but just in case you better get down there right now to try it just as it is!

Went here on sunday at around 6:30 and the place was dead. It is very small so maybe this was a good thing because we could sit anywhere we wanted. The waitress was very nice and turned on the heater as it was quite chilly. We ordered the octopus which was so tasty, fish burger in squid ink bun, crab avocado toast and lobster taco. All were lovely however it would have good if there was 2 tacos as its hard to share 1! We ordered a bottle of red wine however decided after our first glass that we would prefer prosecco. The waitress didnt mind at all and topped our glasses up and only charged us for the glass. She poured the prosecco to very top of the glass which was great! Prices are average for a nice place in finnistoun. Il definately be back to try more of the menu!

The fact that this is only the second review of Table 11 is a bit of a shame, as this is a brilliant wee restaurant that deserves a lot more attention. Crabshakk’s little brother three doors down, this is going for a small plate sharing feel. It definitely has the Finnieston feel: bright and light, and it does a lot with the little space that it has. There is a small bank of tables and some stools with pull up tables about the size of 2 small laptops — compact, but it does the job. The staff are uniformly excellent. Really friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed, they do a good job maintaining a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the selection of tunes certainly helped. If you get a table it’s basically yours until you leave and there really wasn’t a feeling that they were hurrying you along. The food was superb. There is a standard menu as well as a specials list of about half a dozen items. Prices range from £4 — £7, and are a good size; 2 or 3 croquettes, 2 langoustines, a decent plate of deep fried baby squid. Everything was nice and light and tasted great, and the non-fish stuff was just as good as the fish. Highlights were the ham and cheese croquettes(almost as good as the Ox and Finch ones!), the beef strips and the scallop ceviche, but to be honest everything was of a good standard. We probably over-ordered with 8 plates, but we did have a lot of time! I genuinely can’t recommend this place enough. If you just want to chill out for a while with a drink and some nibbles it’s great, and it’s also brilliant if you want a good feed. It’s been ages since I’ve been to Crabshakk so I can’t compare the two, but it is going to have to work hard to match this.

Table 11 used to be Crabshakk’s private dining space, but in May it was transformed into an oyster bar/tapas restaurant. It doesn’t take bookings but we easily got a table at 5.30 on a Saturday night so perhaps not many people have discovered this gem yet. Now I love Crabshakk, but haven’t been there in far too long. Table 11 is based on the same principle — simple seafood dishes done well in a casual setting. As soon as we arrived I knew we were in for a great meal — the waiter was so friendly and helpful, he gave us the lowdown of how the restaurant worked in a non-patronising way and was great at suggesting wines(and even giving me a sample so I could choose between two). He reeled off(sorry for the fish pun) the specials of the day, brimming with enthusiasm(and I heard him do the same a good hour and bit later with just as much pep). Impressive! Onto the food. The menu shows you what dishes are available then and there to order and gets updated as the night goes on. We ordered three dishes at a time and ate in a grazing fashion which was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon/evening. It’s hard to pick favourites as I genuinely enjoyed all the dishes we tried, but I particularly loved the salmon sashimi special, the scallop ceviche and the squid ink arancini. The restaurant itself is small and only has room to seat 20 people — there are tables to stand around if you’re so inclined. While you could feel a little crammed in, I really didn’t and enjoyed sitting at the side bar area on stools with a pop up table between us. Most of the time we were eating from the same plate, but if you can’t share food with your husband then who can you share with?(Just be sure you don’t lean in at the same time unless you’re aiming for a Glasgow kiss). We ended up ordering 8 dishes between us which was a good amount I found, I definitely couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the night! I had a couple of glasses of wine and a gin & tonic, and Graeme had a beer and a few soft drinks and the bill came to around £70. For a few hours of grazing some of the loveliest seafood I’ve had in a while I was happy with that — keeping in mind the dishes are mostly under £5 you could definitely eat here for a lot cheaper if you didn’t get stuck into the booze quite so much(ahem). I can’t wait to go back for round 2.
