Rubadub is a rather small shop with a proper selection of well-chosen production and DJing equipment. At the back of the shop you can also find a nice rack of records. There’s a setup you can climb on top of the mezzanine upstairs to give them a listen too. They have a whole lot of house and techno tunes if that’s your thing, but if not there is always a couple of top-notch picks from other genres as well plus you can still order any particular records you are into. The store itself has amazing service and very friendly staff so if you’re looking for specific equipment or up to do some weird shit, you will be backed up with solid advice to get you started. All in all, Rubadub has a really genuine atmosphere and you know it’s serious when the guys even run the shop on weekends and holidays. When it comes to electronic music culture this place is a safe haven.

Back when I was a fresh-faced teen, a trip to Rub a Dub for some obscure techno tunes, followed by an internet-based splurge on the most bangin’ UK garage vinyl I could find was quite literally my idea of heaven, and the first step to world domination. Real life got in the way, but it’s worked out as a fun and interesting sideline that I’d recommend to any budding muso too talentless to pick up a set of drumsticks. But once you become«that sad c*nt in the corner», trading his last shreds of dignity for a few quid as he rolls out«Sweet Caroline» don’t come into Rub a Dub, it will break your heart.

Rub A Dub is a haven for music tech geeks electronic music anoraks. The choice of gear available in store isn’t massive but all of it is high quality and set up in a way which makes everything easy to try out before you spend your fortune. There is a record shop integrated into it as well which has never held much of an interest for me but I can imagine it to be a gold mine for DJ’s and anyone into underground electronic music. They also have a great website to accompany the store. Check it out!
