Sometimes when me and the hubby manage to get a date night we’re so exhausted that the thought of having to go out is just too much. However, we both love Italian and our local Prezzo is five minutes door to door in the car. Plus, it’s relatively quiet compared to the other restaurants at the Fort. The restaurant itself is large, spacious and bright. It’s staffed with some really friendly and obliging people and if there’s a booth free they’re more than willing to give it to a couple for extra comfort. Unfortunately on this occasion there were no booths available for us so we were seated at a table for two. These tables are tiny. Once your food comes it’s hard to safely place your drink down without worrying you’ll knock it over the rest of the meal. Especially if you opt for a pizza! However, the food more than makes up for it. The menu is vast and offers something for everyone so don’t be fooled that it’s simply pizza or pasta. We ordered a couple of starters to share; Mozarella in Carrozza and Calamari with a pesto Mayo dip. For the main I ordered one of their V.I.Pizzas, Posh Pepperoni. It’s topped with Salami milano, calabrese sausage, salsiccia piccante pepperoni, prosciutto, Sweet roquito chilli peppers, rocket, bella lodi, mozzarella and tomato. That was a copy and paste job because there was no way I could remember all of that! Hubby ordered a roast duck leg special that was on offer that day. The waiter asked if we wanted our starters first or if we wanted everything brought at the one time for a big sharing feast. We opted for the latter despite our tiny table so when our food came, table space became non-existent. But that didn’t matter because the feast before us was delicious! We seriously underestimated the portion sizes for the starters. Four massive wedges of mozzarella in carrozza with a sweet and tangy tomato dipping sauce and a generous portion of lightly battered calamari. These were both lovely. The calamari was only slightly overdone but I’m quite forgiving with this as I know how difficult the timing can be. Plus the batter was gently crisp and didn’t overpower the calamari itself. The pesto Mayo was fresh and flavourful and, with a little lemon, brought the entire dish together well. The mozzarella wedges were quite stodgy, as you would imagine a wedge of cheese deep fried in breadcrumb would be, but that tomato dip was the perfect accompaniment and cut through the heaviness. Now. Let’s talk about my pizza! This is a five star pizza. My husband joked that he wishes I looked at him the way I look at this pizza. I’ve tried a few of their regular pizzas but this VIP Pizza was something else. The base was crisp, thin and well baked. It made sure to showcase the toppings of the pizza. And what beautiful toppings they were. It was packed with a selection of delicious charcuterie, a light signature sauce and delicate mozzarella. I took time to taste each flavour of sausage individually before tucking in and I’m so glad I did. They were full of an array of spices and bold flavours. When I started tucking into my pizza every mouthful was different and if I could I would’ve scoffed the lot. I cannot gush enough about this pizza. The sides were really good and hubby loved his special of duck leg too. The service was brilliant, with a lovely balance of efficiency and friendliness. Don’t be fooled that because it’s a chain you’re going to get a lower quality of everything. We had a lovely, chilled date night here and always keep this on our go to list if we’re not in the mood for trekking out too far. Do yourself a favour and get to your local Prezzo and order that VIP Posh Pepperoni. You can thank me later :)

Have eaten here a few times and has always been good, standard Italian fare. The service has been good and I’d definitely return. It’s nice décor and their rest rooms are always spotless. Nicer option than most to eat at The Fort.

I’d never been to Prezzo before but decided to give it a go and I was so glad I did! The menu had a lot of variety, a good selection of pizza and pasta. Unfortunately I’m a fussy eater as certain food can make me ill so I I felt there was a lot on the menu that I couldn’t eat. I decided to go for the Chicken Caesar flatbread salad(without cheese) and it was so good. The chicken was perfection and the flatbread was yummy. It also filled me up really well but not to the sickly full stage. It’s not the cheapest restaurant but the food is a really high quality and I actually felt like I was eating healthily for once! The staff were really nice too and the wait wasn’t long for our meal.

Gave it a try as its close to cinema and was pleasantly surprised. Large selection on menu and food seemed tasty and authentic. First experience of a Prezzo but will be back. Staff great and very helpful.

Myself and my partner popped into Prezzo for a bite to eat before the cinema on a cold January night. We liked the look of the menu and the variety was brilliant so we sat down and ordered a starter and main each. I had the bruschetta and then the small portion of lobster spaghetti with a side salad– both fantastic and full of flavour! My partner had the mozzarella and then a delicious pizza. I tried both and was impressed by the quality and depth of flavour. The surroundings in Prezzo are very pleasant and cosy. The staff were unbelievably pleasant and polite– they could not be more helpful :) Would recommend a visit here if you are out shopping or off to the pictures to see a film.

Popped in for lunch with a friend after shopping at the fort today. Always thought Prezzo and Pizza Express was the same thing… obviously not! They had a lunch deal on 2 courses for £9.95. I love deals, and it’s a new place — why not hu? The interior was surprisingly nice and classy, they have a stone oven in the view of customers at the back of the restaurant which was quite a nice touch. Restaurant is spacious with neutral décor, and it wasn’t busy at all so we were able to have a nice catch up. We both went for the lunch deal. I have never properly tried a bruchetta before so that’s what I ordered — it was so yummy! Definitely more than some cherry tomatoes on top of a garlic bread, as I had thought lol. For my main I opted for the good ‘ol spaghetti bolognese — super large portion so we definitely got our moneys worth! Definitely enjoyed lunch here and will be back for a second time. Only downside again was the rude waitress — seriously is it just me that they don’t like?!

The Fort has several food options these days. All chains and none of which I am a huge fan of. The only one I had never tried before was Prezzo which meant I decided to give it a shot for some lunch on Saturday. First impressions were good. Staff were friendly when we walked in and the place was bright and pretty spacious. For starters we just shared some olives mixed with garlic. They were really tasty and had a decent variety of different types of Olive. I ordered a Peroni which seems to be standard fare in chain restaurant these days and it went down well enough. For main course I had chicken ravioli with bacon and in a carbonara sauce. It was nice enough in terms of flavour but a bit on the salty side and portion wise it was pretty small. The dessert menu was pretty huge and there was a lot of options that I fancied. I went with the smashed honeycombed cheese cake. It came out within seconds, so must have been sitting pre-prepared somewhere. In the end it tasted bloody good so I guess that’s what mattered really. Overall this was a very decent lunch. If I was at the fort again and wanted to eat I would choose Prezzo again for sure. Definitely worth a go in front of anything else on offer in the area.

Colin and I were doing some shopping up at The Fort the other day, and decided to pop into the newly opened Prezzo to try it out. It sits amongst TGI Friday’s, Harvester and Chiquito’s, and despite the other 3 being absolutely packed, Prezzo was pretty much dead. So we decided we’d try it out. I didn’t have a particularly pleasant experience at the city centre Prezzo, but I saw this as a second chance. It didn’t disappoint! To start with I had filled mushrooms which were delicious, and Colin went for the Soup of the Day, which I think was Pea and Basil. He said it was lovely! Our mains were Penne Zafferano for Colin, which he had the last time and enjoyed, and Fusili Gorgonzola, which was absolutely beautiful. The service over the course of the afternoon was incredible — the waiting staff were lovely and attentive, maybe slightly overly attentive, and the food all came out in great time. I did expect good service with the amount of patrons though. The restaurant is huge, and beautifully designed — the nice open pizza oven at the back is a nice touch. I’d definitely recommend to anyone up at The Fort looking for a bite to eat. It’s apparently much easier to get a table at than the other restaurants, and is a great place for food after a shop. Could even pop into the cinema right next door afterwards and make a day out of it!
