With my belly rumbling last Saturday evening I was treated to a wee surprise of a Chinese restaurant I hadn’t heard of before. Located over the road from the Anniesland Morrisons, at first you would think it’s just a take away only when you look at the front entrance. Alas quelle surprise a long corridor takes you to the rear of the building and opens up into a lovely traditional Chinese restaurant including fish tank. It was about 6.30pm-ish so we were just in time for the pre-theatre menu, I believe it was 2 courses for £9.95 and 3 courses for £11.95. It was absolutely delicious! I think they mixed up our spare ribs order, I ordered BBQ and Ian asked for Peking, his was definitely sweeter. Ach well, they still tasted delicious. They also forgot our order of prawn crackers, which we had to ask for again, they did apologise. They were mighty mighty busy with take away orders, this is where you can see they make their business, it was just bag after bag after box of take aways coming from the kitchen. The restaurant wasn’t too busy for a Sat night and we liked that. Ian doesn’t want too many people knowing about this business as it’s sooo good and we like the fact it’s not crazy busy. I had to beg him to let me review the place so shhhhhh keep it under yer fried rice. The staff were lovely, not in your face, and very accommodating, especially when a birthday cake was brought out for a young lad with his girlfriend. Poor guy was mortified as we all sang happy birthday to him. Hehe! I can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu, I really enjoyed my orange chicken but the proof is in my favourite sweet and sour chicken. I look forward to our next visit.
