New Look

Need a quick party outfit, you can get it all in here, from the bag to the shoes to the dress. New Look tend to be my go to for the above. The shoe lounge downstairs is pretty big, although the lack of half sizes can be annoying for me! Be warned, it’s boiling down there with the heating on full blast.
There is a huge selection of clothes, from basics, to workout gear to work clothes and plenty of festive jumpers. They have student discount and fairly regular sales.

This is a massive Hew Look, over a number of floors. Even first thing this morning the store was busy. Built in the corner of Buchanan Street, it has a prime location. The store is well laid out but down stairs does feel a tad claustrophobic. Very sparkly and inviting and not too expensive too.

New Look is probably at the cheaper end of the high street offerings, and I would hesitantly venture the opinion that, on the whole, it’s still over-​priced for what it is. I’d say the quality and design is on a par with Primark, but an item you’d pay say £12 for in Primark, you’ll pay £17 for in New Look.
HOWEVER, they do have some cracking items sometimes — it’s just a case of scanning through the rails and rails of not so brilliant garments to find the gems.
I particularly like their winter things. Today, although the sun is shining and it’s still very mild outside, I very happily discovered that their winter stock is starting to appear. I bought a lovely grey wrap to keep me warm at work, and a cool tartan scarf. I love woolies like that, but I don’t actually like high quality ones that are made from wool, as it makes me itch, so cheapo acrylic suits me much better. Hurray for acrylic soft and cosiness! I have my eye on another scarf or two, but how many scarfs can I actually justify buying…

INSPIRE-​d??? Not so much…
I love New Look clothes and shoes, I do, to be fair-​buuuuuut, their plus size department is lacklustre to say the least!
I managed to get a cool summery tshirt for £7.99 today and a lovely black top for £12.99, both good quality and at those prices, BARGAINOUS! Buuuut (again!!) I got the (only!!) two decent tops (IMHO) in the woefully teensy department… there are maybe 9 or 10 clothing racks (giving them the benefit of the doubt here, as I don’t think there are actually that many!!!) and one wee wall that houses the Inspire range-​I don’t think that’s enough!!!
This seems like it would be the flagship NL in the city, so I honestly don’t see why they wouldn’t/couldn’t have more stock in the Inspire range-there’s plenty online, so why not expand in store???
The above is QUITE obviously a bugbear for me, but I do think the clothes are of a decent quality and their jeans are always a good fit… recommended, but go online instead!

Huge two level store with a massive shoe hall in the basement and lots of concessions. Where you might not find everything at some smaller stores this one has it all!

J’adore le magasin New Look c’est magnifique pour les vêtements a la mode! Il y a beaucoup de choses mais je suis toutà fait grande donc c’est très difficile pour trouver des vêtements dans New Look Pardonne Moi, ma français n’est pas bien.

It has to be said — this is a mind-​blowing New Look. It’s big, bold and beautiful!
Bringing this store to Buchanan Street a few years back, the sheer size of this store allows for fancy clothes displays, a large section dedicated to concessions ranges, a kingdom of jeans and a floor occupied by shoes on the lower level.
New Look are swiftly turning into one of the high street’s favourite shops, and they’re a damn sight cheaper than Topshop these days. They do the most amazing sales, where the entire shop seems to cut everything to at least half price. I got lucky and got a few tops and a skirt out of here the other day for under 20 quid!
The quality of the items is good — a step above H&M in terms of fabric and on a par with Topshop for half the price. Even when prices aren’t been slashed in honour of the sales season, you can often find a steal in here. Hooray!

This is a big shop and so has a good men’s department. I’m not all that keen on some of the clothes though as they seem to lack in quality. This is reflected in the price though and so good option if the moneys tights

This huge branch of New Look bang in the middle of Buchanan Street stocks womans wear, shoes, kids clothing and a small selection for guys. I always find New Look a bit hit or miss, when it’s a miss it’s pretty bad but when it’s a hit, oh boy is it good.
I got a gorgeous black dress here with a gold embroidered front for only £16, it certainly looks a lot more expensive than it is and has come in handy for many a night out. They have a fab’ range of dresses from different concessions which are all very reasonably priced and are great if you have a special occasion or birthday party to go to and want something nice but don’t want to splash out too much.
I sometimes find the main floor of this New Look a little bit hectic and they almost have too much stuff which makes it hard to shift through things and I usually get bored halfway through.
I love New Look shoes, you can get pretty heels for as little as £18, to be honest, quite a lot look £18 but you can find the odd pair that look more expensive. I’ve ruined far too many good shoes on nights out so I usually buy New Look shoes for clubbing so if they get drink spilled all over them by some idiot it’s not the end of the world, I can just buy a new pair. They also do great pumps too and they always have a good range of sizes. To my delight they pretty much always have size 3’s which I find hard to get in many other stores.
I guess I’m a fan, I also love the fact that if you have a valid matric card you get 10% discount, even on sale items, hurrah!

I maybe go shopping for clothes once every two years at a push. The only requirements I have of my clothing is that it is functional and reasonably priced. This is glaringly obvious once you see my daily uniform of fleece and jeans.
So I have no idea why New Look was recommended to me. It pretty much sells cheaper versions of the garish trendy stuff you see in Topman. Only quicker to fall apart.
Yes this store is big and I’m sure it sells the odd good item but I won’t be back.

Is it just me or does Topshop seem to get more and more expensive as time goes on? I can’t believe I actually used to buy clothes from that shop because I every time I visit now I pick a gorgeous item off the rails only to put it back once I look at the price tag.
So New Look it is for me then. It offers clothes which are almost as nice as Topshop in my opinion, in much more reasonable prices. I particularly love the range of shoes. I bought a pair of winter boots here seven months ago and have worn them practically every day. At £25 you don’t get much better value for money than that. Not to mention the fact that two people have actually walked up to me in the street since to ask where I got them.
This branch in Buchanan Street is big, although not quite as big as the one in Braehead Shopping Centre. However, it is definitely worth a browse as it offers a wide selection of clothes, jeans and shoes as well as the individual labels available only in New Look.

I have four words to sum up my feelings about New Look.
I Don’t Get It.
I remember shopping here and at Tammy Girl back when I was a tween, but as soon as I grew out of their 9 – 13 year-​old range, I grew out of the concept of this shop altogether. Yes, it’s cheap, but rightly so, as everything I’ve bought here has been made of less-​than-​kind fabrics and irritably shoddy workmanship.
I went in to their massive store on Buchanan Street a few weeks ago to get new work trousers. Although all of the designs are similar and made of virtually the same fabric, they vary wildly in price. The pair I settled on were 16 quid, which is quite a bit cheaper than stores like Topshop and H&M. But rightly so, because they’re terrible. Within 2 wears the buttons were coming loose and I had to re-​sew them. The next time I washed them (at 30, on a delicates spin), the hem stitching came away. By the third wash, there was a gaping hole in the right pocket. My last £30 pair from Topshop lasted me 2 years. New Look, I am not impressed.
If their horrible standards weren’t bad enough, the store itself is an all-​out visual affront, a lime-​green assault to the eyes every time you pass.
New Look, please, get off my high street.

New Look is definitely one of my favourite high street stores to head for when looking for some pretty new shoes. This store is huge, with a large section dedicated to strappy, sexy, sensible and shiny shoes. The selection is quite overwhelming, all at incredible prices and offering something to suit everyone’s feet from pretty flats to sexy skyscraper heels.
Oh, they sell clothes too. New Look has come on leaps and bounds over the years, from a once uncool and low end store to one of the biggest names in high street fashion. I particularly love the knitwear here, including big soft cosy jumpers and pretty fitted & knitted dresses.
Big names such as Giles Deacon and Lily Allen have hopped on board to offer new and interesting designs, to cement New Look’s new found fame and fortune in the fashion stakes.

This New Look store in the centre of Glasgow has certainly started to establish New Look as a contender in the high street. The interior is spacious with clothes separated easily into different genres of clothes from work, daytime to night out making the store easy to browse round.
I sometimes feel I’m in a high end High Street store when shopping in here especially as they are now bringing in some independent London labels that are still reasonably priced. And as has been mentioned before the shoe department downstairs is great!

This is such a large New Look store so you will probably find yourself in here for a while what is good is that it stocks a good range of mens ware as well as woman’s clothes. The range of clothes are fashionable and trendy. The way the stock is laid out means that you should find what your looking for they have some nice cosy cardis at the moment which is ideal for these cold days.
If you go downstairs you will find an array of shoes and so you might be able to complete your new look as the store also sells bags etc. They also stock children’s clothes and underware. It really is a clothes shop for the whole family.

This is my favourite shop in Glasgow! Upstairs has everything, it has a huge huge denim section and loads of nice clothes for work, a mens section and plenty of everything else. Then at the back is a massive selection of accessories and handbags.
Then you go downstairs and there is a nice big plus size selection at the back, and kids clothes (including babies!) through the middle. Then off to the left there is the shoe room, a massive section dedicated to rows and rows of shoes.
Its all really cheap too! You’re guaranteed a bargain!
There are loads of tills and you never have to wait to long to pay and leave — which i love! I’m always in a hurry!

As far as I’m aware this is currently the biggest New Look in Scotland. They have an absolutely massive range of clothes and shoes etc.
If your looking for value for money clothing then New Look is great, they do some really nice things. I wouldnt say it is the best quality but you can’t expect that really for the price you are paying. The shoes however are always excellent, I have bought many pairs of shoes from here and always found that they last a long time and are very comfy. The shoes are also always very cheap compared to other stores so definitely worth buying.

This is a large store with 2 floors of fashion and accessories. The store is very well laid out, and the shop department is wonderful. There are also maternity, underwear, mens, childrens and plus size clothing sections as well as ladies fashion.
The staff are really helpful and the store itself is centrally located, just up from Buchanan Street underground station

If you enjoy shopping in New Look you’ll love this store.

The selection of clothes and shoes is on display is amazing — and if you’re a major bargain hunter there’s nearly always a ‘sale’ section at the back of the store!
Beware though — there’s often full priced items dumped in the sale section so when you come to pay you get a bit of a shock!

Great new look store! So much choice!
Often a little messy, but not really a problem as you can normally pick up a bargain!
Great for shoes and also has a great menswear dept, my boyfriend got lots of bargains before we went on holiday!

This new look is like stepping into shoe heaven
It has the biggest range of shoes i have ever seen in a new look, and they are all lovely and have a huge selection of sizes.
Good if you are looking for a cheap pair of shoes that look good but wont break the bank.
