Yet another Chinese take-away in the Baillieston area. Surprised? Me neither! Situated on Edinburgh Road, near the turn-off to Barlanark, it’s almost directly across from Vito’s chippy and the football pitches. It’s a tiny little building, looks a bit like a red-brick hut, and it’s the only business inside. I don’t know who originally procured this land, the whole thing is a mystery to me. They recently added a car wash facility right beside it. How you’re meant to park with that in the way, though, is just beyond my powers of deduction. Aside from all the situation-property sharing confusion, it’s an alright wee take-away. One of those ones where the food is cooked by a nice Asian family and you’re confronted – err– served, by your usual Barlanark-style lassie(if you live near here, you know exactly what I mean). There’s the ubiquitous high wooden counter and uncomfortable bench on which to sit while you await your order, and they have a delivery service. Best reason to go here is the £5 meal of any dish plus fried rice. They also do prawn crackers for free if you spend a tenner or more. It’s the usual stick-to-your-mouth, leave you thirsty for a week style Chinese food. So if that is all you’re after, it’s pretty much as good as it gets!
