Food and service are both good. Waitresses and chefs are enthusiasm. I was regreted not to taste the dessert.

What used to be a great restaurant with lovely food and an amazingly authentic Spanish atmosphere has degenerated into a bland, soulless place with staff that couldn’t care if they worked there of at a fast food restaurant. The dishes sound authentic from the menu, however the small paella((for example) is just paella rice with a small bit of some red sauc thrown on top and then chicken piece and tiny prawns — I doubt any of the ingredients were cooked together at all. Other dishes like the pollo con salsa were truly bland and not worth the money. To be fair some of the dishes are great — costillas de cerdo(ribs) and montillado de cerdo were lovely. It’s a shame as it used to be such a great experience. Now it’s just«meh»

The restaurant is half empty but I still did not get one course what I ordered after 2 asks. If you wanna disgust yrself,go this restaurant without hesitation.

La Tasca is lovely, although it seems to have attracted some negative press on Unilocal. It’s not one of my regular haunts, but whenever I’ve been in it’s been a great evening. Good food, hot, fresh with a short waiting time for meals. The first time I visited was for a pre Christmas taster session, and so a lot of the food was on the house. It was a fantastic night, mostly because I was eating for free! And getting spoiled by the staff. There was dancing… and a lot of sangria. I’ve been in for meals a few times since, so their free taster clearly worked! I love the Sangria, and favourites include the anchovies and the chorizo/potato dishes. The portions are hearty and there’s always plenty to go round. Nevertheless, there’s always room in your stomach for all the food and nothing has ever gone to waste! If you can make room for dessert, it too is excellent! The staff are friendly, you’re never waiting long for your meal in spite of how busy it gets, and the food is always delicious. No complaints!

This place was annoyingly busy when we went on a Friday night. Good atmosphere, and friendly service, but I did wait quite a long time for my tapas in the end. The paella was all right, the omelette tart(forget the Spanish name) wasn’t too great, but the battered scampi were an absolute revelation. The 3 tapas for 10 quid offer is good value. The sangria was also tasty.

Went here for the first time tonight, don’t know why I haven’t been before! The ambiance was really chilled out and relaxing coming in, just what I like when I’m out for something to eat — music playing and the beer flowing. We ordered the«unlimited tapas» for £14.99 each which I thought was quite reasonable considering it was unlimited, not buffet style but just order as much as you want, when you want, which I prefer as it’s always hot and fresh when it comes. Everything I tried was delicious, very nice but just not quite 5 star, the food was very nice, but slightly on the bland side they could make the flavours more intense but for £14.99 you can really complain! I was told too if I eat all 12 items from the tapas menu they would give us a free meal for 2, unfortunately after 5⁄6 I had to succumb the portion sizes are quite deceptive as the plates are so small. The other set menu is 3 items for £9.99 well worth paying the extra £5, I think this«unlimited» deal is pretty new but definitely worth it. Anyone looking to go I would say 1000% try it out, really nice — p. s. unlimited tapas is only until 8pm so go there before 8 if you want to binge!

So many negative reviews of La Tasca on Unilocal, and I actually quite like the place! To be fair, I’ve never actually tried any other tapas joints, so I don’t really have anything to rival it against. I used to go in here quite often as my best friend was a waitress/hostess in here for a while, and I quite liked it! The waiting staff aren’t the most pleasant people I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by, and the food isn’t of the highest quality, and it’s a bit on the pricey said(slowly lowering this 4 star review to 3 star the more I write it…). Maybe if I had other tapas experiences to compare it to, I’d think differently, but the food isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever tried! Someone take me for another tapas evening!

Right, well, after reading this week’s Unilocal Glasgow newsletter on tapas places, I realised that I hadn’t gotten around to writing a review yet. Oops. My new job is right around the corner from La Tasca, and it’s a frequent lunch venue for staff in my department, which meant that I had to be introduced to the sights. This was, admittedly, Baby’s First Tapas(there weren’t many places in my US cities of residence), but in my mind, you could do far, far worse for a chain restaurant. You also could do far worse for lunch in the city centre. The atmosphere’s not bad, the prices are fairly reasonable at lunchtime – their $ 5.95 lunch has some good selections on it instead of being the dumping ground of the mediocre – and the food is pretty good, in my mind. At least, the chicken croquettes are delightful, and I wish I could have a whole plate of them on a regular basis. I also was pleased with the patatas bravas and the chorizo in red wine. The staff were okay, not as attentive or quick as I might have liked considering that the place was nearly empty when we came in, but things warmed up quickly. I’m thinking La Tasca may have perhaps improved since the previous reviews, this being a year on since the last one posted here, but I’ll have to have a go at Café Andaluz and Tinto to see what compares.

Service is good and food is fine but hardly any gluten free options, often get cheap deals through the website though, usually quite busy but doesnt affect the service, for tapas i prefer café anduluz although it is more expensive

Gosh, La Tasca seems to have taken a bit of a battering on Unilocal and I’m quite surprised as it’s always busy and every dining experience I’ve had here has been nothing other than great. I have to admit, it’s not as good as Café Andaluz, but it’s miles ahead than other tapas restaurants in Glasgow. Last time I was here my friend spotted some eye candy and was shameless flirting with him while he was dishing out the patatas bravas, to be honest, that’s something I could do without on a dining experience and could feel my paella coming up. Overall, La Tasca is in a handy location as it’s so close to Central Station, it has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty tapas. Oh and at the moment if you sign up for their mailing list you get 50% off dishes between Sun-Fri until 7th May — can’t argue with that!

You want good food? Do not go to La Tasca. However, if you like every dish on the menu to be saturated in oil and over seasoned with garlic, then this is the place for you. Maybe I am to harsh, the restaurant itself is detailed and Spanish feeling, as a tapas bar this is great. The service is of a good quality, but as you may have guessed the food is very uninspiring and samey. Is this a case of what you get is what you pay for? I think not. To be honest it is not that cheap, it might just seem this way because it is tapas, but at around £4 a dish it is easy to spend alot. If you are thinking about going I can whole heartedly say, the Sangria is the best thing on the menu. No really, I’m not being sarcastic, it really is tasty! That is saying something, from the girl who doesn’t drink.

One of a few around Glasgow, it’s got a good reputation, as a chain. It’s cheap, which is a plus, but the food just isn’t that great. Last time I was here, we had to wait ½hr to get served, even though we’d booked a table, etc. Then our food seemed to take forever to come to the table. The food was alright(and only alright). Our waitress was really apologetic, and after we complained, we got 50% off our bill, which eased the foodpain. La Tasca is ok, but well, it’s no Café Andaluz, that’s for sure.

My first visit here certainly won’t be my last! Lovely food, good portions, great service and good value make this Spanish Tapas restaurant a must. The Tapas for a Tenner deal is great(available Sunday-Tuesday) and also includes a starter of bread and dips plus a bottle of house wine(the red was really nice!) for just an extra £10. Definitely recommended and there will be something on the dish for everyone.

La Tasca is chain, I normally won’t eat in a chain, but the food used to be good here. It no longer is, the last night we ate here, the fish was not fresh, it was more than likely a few days old. My friend was served some very cold lamb tapas with a runny watery sauce. The only thing that turned up warm was the bread, the meal was comp as everything was returned. I will not be back

so i took my better half here last night, in order to take advantage of their tapas for a tenner deal(runs sun-thurs)…and, i must say, a damn fine time was had by alland, by all, i mean both of us! so, the menu is slightly limited, but who cares? you get to eat as much as your distended stomach can handle! the service is friendly and rapid, and food is really good. my only minor quibble with the place is the décor — tis a little too orange for my taste and the presence of a van gogh print is beyond me(he was blooming well dutch if i remember correctly)… all in all, viva l’espana!

I’ve been to both La Tascas in Glasgow and I prefer this one over Silverburn’s due to its setting in the city centre. It’s always nicer to look out at streetlife than a parking lot. The restaurant itself has great atmosphere — deep brick colors, dark woods and vibrant Spanish art make for a warm and welcoming place. The wine selection is great with lots of tasty Spanish options for all budgets. The food is pretty good. It’s a chain so there’s definitely a formulaic quality – nothing too daring – but it’s reliably tasty for what it is and definitely more impressive than what you find at big chains from my side of the pond. The smashing atmosphere and great wines take it up a notch. They also have great deals: Tapas for a Tenner: as many tapas as you like for ten pounds off a specific menu from 5 — 9, Sun — Wed Lunch for Two for Ten Pounds: Choose five tapas to share off their special menu Kids Menu — Choose any two tapas, dessert and a drink for just 3.95

Had a great night in this La Tasca last week. Much more atmosphere than the Silverburn restaurant. Spanish music played by a Dj and the waiting staff where very friendly and helpfull when ordering. Large portions of Tapas and huge portions of paella, we tired the meat paella, very tasty. Great choice of wine and sangria available and a short walk from train station.

This is an ideal restaurant to come to in you are in a big group as then you can order loads of tapas dishes to share. The restaurant can get very busy so it would be wise to book if you wish to visit it in an evening, though there is a bar there if you are waiting for a table. The fresh bread is definitely something to order with the olive oil and vinegar dip. The restaurant is quite dark inside but does have a spanish feel to it. Its good value for money and it has quite a vibrant atmosphere. Its a restaurant that you could go to get your night started!

Lovely restaurant serving lots of delicious tapas dishes. Not too expensive and great service. Didn’t realise it was a chain when I dined there I was that impressed with the authenticity! Would recommend for an evening meal with friends.

A great wee restaurant, friendly staff and nice lively atmosphere. As its Tapas, you can have as much or as little as you like so suits all budgets. Ive been a few times and enjoyed myself every time, it can be quite busy at the weekends and on Saturdays they don’t take bookings, so just turn up, give your name and either sit and have a wee drink while you wait, or come back. We only had to wait 20 mins. Just remember to take this into consideration when before you go. Enjoy! :-)
