I’ve been here a few times, simply because it is one of the few decent restaurants in that area. It’s interior is a bit kitsch, but it does feel quite charming and intimate. It’s definitely suited to that romantic, candlelit date. I think because of it’s isolation from really good competition it is maybe more lauded than it deserves. I find the portions a little small, though to be fair I am a glutton, but I also find that the food doesn’t impress me as much as my favourite city centre/west end Italian eateries.

A tiny little Italian restaurant, a little tougher to find. The décor was definitely Italian with statues and stained glass. Cozy. But the device was slow. The food was good. I had the calamari starter and the veal saltimbocca. Overall, I give it an average rating.

Absolutely faultless! Been coming to this lovely little place since I was a young girl and it hasn’t lost its charm. We were here tonight to celebrate my grandpa’s 80th birthday and it was just perfect. Table of 14 and the service was friendly, quick and professional. They always make you feel welcome in here, the décor is rustic and traditional. It really does make you forget you’re in Glasgow for a while! The food… Where do I start. None of this chain restaurant, generic, boring Italian food. Just good, honest, hearty, authentic Italian goodness. I’m fortunate enough to have a lot of Italian family on my mum’s side and am used to eating my Uncle Armando’s home style cooking. As soon as I walked in here tonight, the smell just reminded me of his kitchen at home. I opted for the bruschetta. The bread was toasted to perfection with just the right amount of garlic. The tomatoes were fresh, juicy and plentiful and the side salad with balsamic vinegar topped it off a treat. Next up, their legendary lasagne. I’ve yet to find a lasagne as good as this, think I may have to go to Italy to out-do this little beauty. My grandpa was blown away tonight, the staff even brought out his dessert with a little candle and started singing happy birthday. We all left with big smiles on our face and memories of a rather special night. Please go here, you won’t be disappointed!

Busy and a real Glasgow institution — the food is great and so is the service. It’s difficult to park and so public transport is best.

Cannot fault in any way whotsoever… well apart from the fact that the Godfather wasn’t there to welcome me into the family :( Food …absoltely out of this world… italian restaurants are dotted all over Glasgow, but they are in a different league altogether. I have been here so often and have tried a different main course each time and everyone of them outstanding. i tend to stick to the same few starters… all tasty, fresh and filling. Wine choice is excellent, with prices not over the top either. Only downside they don’t sell Budweiser(the only beer my other half drinks). Waiters are soooo helpful when asking about a meal, considerate of ensuring our glasses are always refilled. Allowing for time between courses and of course… FRIENDLY!!! Every member of staff seems so happy to be working there that you immediatley feel relaxed and know your custom is appreciated. The décor is OTT in a fabulous way, statues, trees, courtyards, tiles, lots of wood… all wonderfully traditional ITALIAN. Italy is never far away when you go to La Fioerntina… and neither are we… be back soon :) xxx Wendi

I don’t know how they do it but the décor, while completely over the top, ends up drawing you in and putting you at ease. La Fiorentina is made to look like a Roman villa, with faux exteriors onto the«courtyard,» fake tree, statues, and wine barrels littering the place. I suppose what tips it over the edge from cheesy to engaging is the absolute commitment to Old World-style dining, complete with(I believe) an all-male cast of bow-tied waiters who take their job seriously. The place was heaving on a Saturday night and while it took a little while to place our orders, the busy waiters made sure to check in with us to make sure we knew they were on their way. We went for the Celebration Menu, which we had to ask for. They have some deal menus but don’t automatically give them to you. This menu was fantastic – about 50 pounds per couple(depending on what night you go – it’s more on a Saturday) for a welcome drink, bottle of wine, coffee with liqueur, and three courses. We told the waiter we were«celebrating» our first night away from our baby and he was delightful – congratulating us and insisting we take our time and enjoy each course. «Stay! Relax! Enjoy!» So in addition to the great service and oddly enchanting atmosphere, how was the food you ask? Well damn girl, it was fantastic. Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen but *good* Italian restaurants are rare. This was the real deal. Our stuffed mushrooms and antipasto starters got things going on the right foot. Simple, fresh and tasty. The pork tagliatelle and seafood linguine were perfection. Again, simple dishes but often done wrong. Italian food isn’t spicy but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have flavor. Herbs are the cornerstone of good Italian and here they were deployed in ideal proportion to the proteins and pasta. Desserts were a bit middling but after such wonderful starters and entrees were were happy with our ice cream and apple pie. Lovely, lovely, lovely. I will definitely be back to stay, relax and enjoy.

I am not a big fan of Italian food and wasn’t really looking forward to my visit, How wrong was i? We celebrated my great aunts 90th birthday in here. The service was fantastic even before we arrived for the meal. They created a set meal for our party(of about 15 people including 4 children) we had a choice of 4 items for each course and they even printed special menu for our day«Happy 90th Birthday Auntie Catherine» in bright colours across the top. I decided on the Bruchetta for my starter which was a large portion and very tasty, for my main I decided on the Haddock salad, which was a whole fillet of fish with a zesty dressing topped with cooked red onions, peppers and olives served with a good sized salad, gorgeous to say the least. we opted out of desert as our bellies were full. We settled for coffee and mints. The staff were friendly and didn’t dilly dally, our meal was served promptly and we had the attention of a waiter for virtually the entire time we were in there. the place was very busy and there was happy faces everywhere. I’m looking forward to my next visit. this place comes highly recommended.

Wow. Can’t believe this place hasn’t been reviewed. It’s the best little Italian in the(Paisley Road) West! So, I only just tried La Fiorentina last night, but my friend has been raving about it all year long so it was only a matter of time. She has been a regular diner in here so long I felt like I’d been there already, so when my tummy was a-rumblin’ last night I found myself in here with Stuart. It’s a traditional Italian establishment, so there are busts(statues, not boobs) ahoy, along with the old leaning classical statue guys greeting you as you walk in the door. The décor is very busy and cosy. You are promptly greeted by your waiter as you enter, who seats you down and places the menu in front of you. There is an ala carte list and an option called«The Taste of Italy» which is a tad more affordable. You can request this off the waiter should you desire it. As it happened last night, it worked out well for us paupers, since we got a drink and what effectively worked out as two meals for 12 quid. There is a fine selection of starters ranging from seafood to bruschetta. I opted for Italian sausage in beans which was outstanding. You get a ton of bread to dip in the sauce as well. The mains selection is excellent too, with options ranging from pizza to chicken. Stuart got some delicious pasta and I got a pizza topped with anchovies and gorgoeus wee capers. It was fresh and served up promptly, especially considering how busy it was last night(we were sharing the space with two birthday parties). Speaking of birthdays, Stuart and I happened to run into our friends, the fans of Fiorentina last night. Lou was in here for her boyfriend’s birthday, so when one party erupted into a chorus of Happy Birthday, we added Marc’s name in there instead. Not only did the waiter return to give Marc a rendition of Happy Birthday himself two minutes later, but he also appeared with a slice of cake(candle included) on the house! Not only did it leave Marc mortified(which was enjoyable to say the least) but it shows the generosity and good spirit of the guys who work here. Our waiter was excellent and the dedication of the staff is terrific. It’s nice to dine somewhere traditional where the staff love their job and the food they prepare. That was the impression I got from La Fiorentina, and it was overwhelming. I just loved everything about it, and I’ll be back!

good italian food served in excellent traditional atmosphere — however if going for the pre-theatre menu @ 5.30 don’t go early as they don’t open the doors a minute early!

this cosy, friendly, warm restaurant has beautiful food whether on set lunch or pre theatre — or the wide a la carte menu of italian and international cuisine. the extensive wines are reasonably priced and draught beer available too. it is exceptionally good value and children’s menus are lovely too, not junk food with chips by any means!!! we have been going there for about 10 or more years now and i can genuinely recommend it for all ages. they accommodate personal wishes, eg vegetarian choices and allergies etc. with no problems at all. you will not be disappointed i am absolutely sure of that.
