Karahi Palace is an unexpected gem. The fairly plain exterior may make it look like just a takeaway, but there are four tables downstairs which I would suggest you use to take your time over and sit in to enjoy your food. I have visited this place many times but our recent visit reminded me to review and ‘share the love’ for the delicious freshly prepared food. The portions at Karahi Palace are very generous, for instance for a vegetable pakora we were presented with 12 pieces. The channa poori was deliciously light and crispy(but not overly oily which can be the case with some poori). The liberal sprinklings of coriander and delicious spices made my tastebuds sing(it is not a spicy dish, but is wonderfully flavourful). In the past we have also sampled paneer karahi and many of the mains which can be personalised to be vegetairian(ask for channa mushroom, or perhaps paneer, delicious!). They do ‘on the bone’ meat options and meal deals are available, for example munchy boxes and«pizza and.» options. To accompany your meal if you sit in you will be able to have a large jug of water, or choose from a generous selection of soft drinks(among the expected selection are every flavour of Rubicon, Dr Pepper, Lucozade and Miranda), or a Shmoo milkshake. They do of course deliver too, and you can order through the usual takeaway delivery sites online or directly from them.

I haven’t eaten here in years and years since I worked nearby but it’s just as good as ever. It has the dubious honour of being the location of my first experience of donner chips and cheese with salad and sauce. Don’t let that put you off though, the food in here is actually brilliant with a more traditional bent than the average curry establishment in Glasgow. My only complaint would be perhaps a little too much oil with the otherwise delicious lamb chops. I’ll definitely be back, regardless and may well get the ½ Kg worth of chops next time.
