Happy Day

One of the better Chinese takeaways on Duke Street (another who shall remain nameless never had a single black bean in their black bean sauce… I think it was just gravy). The food is always quick and good and served by a smiling young Chinese girl. Does the job.

It was moving day, and we were starving. Chinese food was on the cards, but being new to the area, we didn’t know where was good.
So we just went to the first place we saw: Happy Day, round the corner from our new flat. To be fair, we should have noticed that the outside looked a bit rough, but we were starving and led by the smell of the food.
We tucked in when we got back home, but the chicken didn’t taste quite right. Couldn’t put our finger on it, but not right. Fair enough.
The next day was not such a happy day however. I felt a bit queasy, and Stu’s…“toiletings” were not up to his usual standard, shall we say. Anyway, we think something was a bit off, although obviously you can’t just pin the blame on one place.
Don’t think we will be making a return visit, though.
