Gregg’s is one of those take away fast food places that can be found on most of Glasgow street corners, it’s cheap, fast and will fill you up if your on a budget. This one especially looks and feels depressing, where staff all look unhappy and only occasionally smile only when passing wind, well that’s what it looks like. Breakfast rolls available in the mornings, best to avoid at peak times as queues as they usually go out the door.

I got my Bacon Rolls out here. The young girl Lyndsey was so nice. I asked if the rolls had butter. She said, marg, she offered me butter. Loads of ketchup. Thanks for going out your way:) yesterday day.

Is it me or is there a shortage of fillings in the sarnie’s now? it’s all bread with no filling. I used to love the tuna crunch but there was a scraping of tuna with hardly any onions/dressing. My dog gets fed more. Maybe it’s a conspirency by the large numbers of pigeons that gather in George square to «eeat the breeed».

In previous reviews I’ve been horribly critical of other Greggs branches and the company in general, and I’m not going to try and pretend this one doesn’t have the same problems. The staff are still miserable, hopeless specimens, it’s still pandemonium at lunchtimes, and if you’re unfortunate enough to get a cold savoury it will still be inedible. However, today I discovered the chilli steak lattice and the roast beef oval bite, and perhaps for the first time ever, I really enjoyed my lunch from Greggs. I’m not sure if it makes up for everything else, but it’s a start.

Greggs is filled with life sustaining sustenance. When you are mobile and not wanting to stop, these places will sort you out for reasonable food that is fresh. The pies are kept hot and you will if you visit enough of them you will develop an addiction to one of the hot pies or pasties on display. Is it great food? Not really. But it is decent and not expensive. If it is a tossup between a corner Greggs and a Lunch Van, I would suggest the Greggs is the better option. They will not be open in the late afternoon. I am not sure when they actually shut but I would assume it is when the filling in the chicken pasties solidifies and becomes inedible.

Nice shop on the corner of Queen Street and George Square, always had loads of stock. Beware of the busy queues — they look long but normally move really quickly, the staff seem to have it under control. I have to agree with the previous reviewer — its far to easy to say Im just nipping to Greggs for a roll and bacon/yumyum/fudge doughnut haha!

Cheap and cheerful bakery, one of the largest Greggs in Glasgow it doesn’t make the queues any less! Tasty sandwiches and rolls, yummy cakes. Bad for the waist line to have the office so close to this shop!
