We’d seen Eusebi materialising on Park Road for months and finally decided to pay a visit for lunch today. We were slightly late for our booking and as usual it was my fault — but they were still waiting on us and seated us without any issues. We were asked for our drinks order as soon as we sat down — the waiter floated around while we sat down — I would have preferred if he had left us to get settled and then came to take our order. We ordered an americano and a cappuccino. The coffee is great — usually when I drink coffee I feel a bit sluggish after it, but I felt fine after this one. I had the Calabrese Pizza and Ewan had the Maccheroni with N’duja. My pizza was probably the best pizza I have ever tasted. The salami was great and I somehow managed to finish all of it off. The base was beautifully crispy and the ingredients went well together. Similarly, you could taste how fresh Ewan’s pasta was and the portions were plentiful. We got some more coffee after our lunch — although the cakes looked absolutely delicious, we were way too stuffed to eat any more. There were a few things I didn’t like about Eusebi — I didn’t really know what some of the items on the menu were and it would be good if there was just a little explanation on the menu as to what they are. They could also put the coffee on the menu too but those were minor and didn’t ruin the experience. Eusebi is a little pricy — at over £30 for two main meals and four coffees — but it’s worth it for a treat.

This restaurant has been on my ‘places to eat’ list for some time now and I finally had the pleasure of dining there last night. I had looked up the menu the day before and had done the necessary googling of ingredients as the menu is quite hard to understand, however the food did not disappoint. I order the Napolitano pizza with creamy mozzarella and cherry tomatoes and my comrades order a variety of dishes from the pizza and pasta selections… all were very impressed. The layout of this places is slightly deceiving as it seems much smaller than it actually is. We had booked ahead(which I would suggest doing) and were seated downstairs at a big round table and had a constant stream of water from the friendly waiters. I can definitely understand the queues Eusebi deli attracts and would highly suggest adding it to your own restaurant bucket list!

It’s taken me way too long to properly visit the new Eusebi Deli near Gibson Street so when I was in the area on Friday, I decided to pop in for some takeaway cake. I love how this place looks from the outside — it’s eye-catching and classy, and I can see why it’s been so popular! The décor inside is lovely too but I’ve got to say, I can’t remember going into such a chaotic place in a long time. I just don’t think the layout works at all — customers and staff seem to be constantly clambering over each other, squeezing past and getting stuck in awkward corners. I was just at the cake counter to get a couple of bits to takeaway — I can’t imagine what it would be like to eat in as I feel like it would be hectic and squishy. Anyway — I got two bakery treats to takeaway. The guy serving me was really nice and helpful and packaged them up nicely in separate boxes. For what I got — two cannoli and a couple of small cakes it was over £7 which I thought was pretty steep. I didn’t love the cannoli, I must say — I don’t know what about the flavour just didn’t appeal to me. The cakes were really nice, delicate light bites. So my first trip to Eusebi wasn’t the best, I’m sad to say. That being said, I would definitely go back for dinner/lunch as I would love to try the savory menu and I’ve heard such good things. For now though, it’s 3 stars.

Sooo I’m gonna give Eusebi Deli a 3 because my experience was just … Erm ok? So Gian and I came here to warm up after some fun in the snow today. The place wasn’t busy at the time so we got seated quickly and were given menus. As usual so no biggy. Pros 1) I ordered the Caprese pizza which was delightful and the caffe latte was really nice too! Gian had a soup with lamb broth which he really liked, especially to warm up the body. Loved the ingredients in all the food on the menu! They have really nice selections of cheese and sliced meat from Italy(pecorino is my fav from Tuscany!) Cons 1) coffee took like 15min to arrive to our table. Y’all weren’t even that busy! 2) we were served by 3 different waiters = confusion of orders. 1st was a guy who came to check on us then disappeared without informing anyone to attend to us, 2nd woman came to us after I made an unimpressed expression directed to the staff members but she had her head in the clouds for sure, and the 3rd one,(the saviour) was the most attentive one who apologised for any confusion. 3) When we ordered the food, Gian originally only wanted the soup of the day which was between squash and Tuscan ham with beans. He ordered the Tuscan ham soup and we waited like 25 minutes for it. Why was soup taking so long? Apparently the 2nd waitress failed to tell us that the soup finished like 3 hours ago -.- so the 3rd waitress(that we had to approach and get attention from) finally informed us of what’s available, which led to gian ordering the lamb broth(geez). 4) no sign or info stating that we cant order food from the counter which is annoying cause I wanted a focaccia that wasn’t on the menu for table service! In conclusion, food wise, Eusebi Deli is great! The ingredients are good and they actually hve nice things from Italy! Staff-wise, y’all gotta manage it properly man. Why do you have 3 people serving a table of 2 customers? Why are half of your staff members clueless? Why aren’t you prompt with updating information about the availability of your food or the dynamics of your service? Other than that, it’s just ok. Not gonna go rushing back or anything tho

This has been on my list to try ever since Glasgow Food Geek posted pics. I was not disappointed one bit. We did book and it was a good thing we did. The upstairs is beautifully decorated and the deli counter and cake counter looks amazing. I’m a sucker for a lush good display and this place had it. Our greeting was warm and friendly. We were seated promptly all the while the gentleman(one of the owners?) was chatting away to us. He was attentive and explained how things worked. Also being a new mum my first thought was feed the baby! The gentleman got me a pot of hot water and our order was taken quickly. I went a bit overboard. We ordered two platters for the table: the cheese one and the classic one. Both were visually stunning and delicious. My mum had the cream of mushroom soup — creamy and thick served with focaccia. My sister went for the duck, Hubby went for a spaghetti done with chilli and I had the ravioli. As well as a pizza calabrese to share. We all loved the food. The pizza had a crunchy base and the tomato sauce was lush. Hubby barely shared his spaghetti as it was that good. My sister loved her duck and the ravioli disappeared. Service was attentive and so friendly. A bonus is that all the waitresses kept cooing over our little one too. Which kept him amused no end. Hubby and sis went for the lemon and raspberry tiramisu. It was bursting with fresh lemon flavours but it lacked the raspberries. Didn’t ruin it but we were wondering what happened to the raspberries. It’s not a cheap meal but so worth it. For 4 adults it was over £30 per head however we did asp order cakes to go so prob £25 per head without alcohol. Had to be sensible — can’t drink like I used to pre baby.

After today I really don’t think I’ll bother coming back to Eusebi Deli. First of all I was told that I couldn’t order from the deli counter as it was after 12 but could still order from the cake counter. This makes no sense to me at all. I was sitting less than a metre from some foccacia that I couldn’t eat?! I waited at the counter to order my coffee and was ignored by both baristas who continued to stack cups even though I was standing two feet from them and about three other members of staff who squeezed past me. I said«excuse me can I order some coffee?» Still ignored. I said it louder and a young waitress came over to ask if I needed any help. Yes I want to order a coffee funnily enough! Apparently you need to sit at a table to order. God knows what you’re meant to do if you want it to takeaway(in fact I’d previously ordered a takeaway coffee at the counter so I suspect they were just being difficult). I sat down with my latte feeling stressed and awkward only to have my plate whisked away the second I finished my cannoli then asked if I wanted more coffee when I’d onyl had two sips. Totally unpleasant atmosphere. This place would be much better if they served the deli food, coffee and cake in one section and kept the restaurant in the other section. I imagine it would be much more profitable too as the margins on coffee and pastries are usually higher than full meals. And the customers won’t need their tables for as long. It would also help if the staff weren’t constantly telling people that they can’t have the food, drinks or seats which are right in front of them. Again I’d say either get takeaway from the deli(good luck trying to guess what you’re ordering as nothing is labeled) or if you want to go for a meal then booking is essential. Expect stressed staff and mediocre food.

This is the place of my dreams! Driving through Woodlands I decided on a quick pit stop to check the place out. It’s pretty small inside but the selection of fresh foods is huge and I could literally order one of everything. There are huge selections of breads, slices, pizzas and pastries and a seperate section full of delicious looking sweet treats. I opted for a takeaway slice of the ‘Pizza’. It’s more like a thick slice of ciabatta style bread with toppings served cold. I chose the Parma ham and buffalo mozzarella and it was honestly one of the nicest thing I’ve eaten in a long time. Crispy, chewy ciabatta with a gorgeous tomato sauce, crispy baked on cheese, dressed leaves and then topped with the Parma ham and mozzarella it was soooooo nice! And at £3 for a huge wedge, I wished I’d got 2! I had it with a latte which was gorgeous and really reasonably priced at £2.50, proper strong Italian coffee which wasn’t masked by all the milk and foam. I can’t give 5 stars as I stood for a long time waiting to be served. The lady at the counter clearly seen me waiting as she smiled, but then went on to serve the customer behind me who she obviously knew personally as they had a long conversation. I eventually had to ask where I go to get served and she said ‘oh, here!’. Felt a bit in the way whilst waiting as the place is so cramped… wasn’t great service and for that I have left out a star. Hopefully I’ll be able to give 5 stars if I go back!

I felt it was fitting that for my first review, I should choose somewhere new to the west end — so please welcome Eusebi Deli as a west end newbie, recently opened at 154 Park Road in the Woodlands area of the West End. We arrived at 1 pm and the place was heaving. There was no clear system for queuing for tables vs queuing for the deli and unfortunately this led to some confusion with people who came in after us getting seated first. The owner was extremely apologetic about this when the mistake was pointed out, and did offer us free prosecco(damn it was a work day) and we were seated at a makeshift table, which was a little cramped but fine. The menu was attractively written in part-english, part-italian, which brought an air of authenticity but did mean I wasn’t entirely sure of exactly what was on offer in some cases. I am sure, though, that if needed the attentive staff would have explained it to us. We plumped for the Parma Selection Platter and the Classic Artisan Cheese Selection Platter, and shared them. These were described as either a starter for two or a main for one, which I would agree with. The Parma Selection included three different types of parma ham, served with a melon jam, which was fresh, unusual and delicious. The Cheese Selection had three different cheeses and was served with the most amazing tuscan, fig and nut torte which was crunchy and soooo yummy. Both were served with focaccia and side salad. We really enjoyed sharing these as a lunch but I would say that if you were not sharing two different platters between you it would be quite samey– you would either be eating just a plate of cheese or a plate of parmaham. What I felt was missing off the menu was a mixed platter where you could get a wee taste of everything. We were sitting near the deli counter and the food displayed there was mouthwatering. Offers for take-away lunch included rolls with porchetta and roasted peppers, and focaccia topped with fresh mozerella and tomatoes. They also do take-home meals for you to heat up for your dinner, such as stuffed peppers or yesterdays lasanga(we all know it tastes best the next day). The pasta is made fresh on the premises everyday and by peeking at other tables the pasta dishes being served looked simple, traditional and delicious. As we were on a work lunch break we got coffee and cake to take-away. My latte would have been better if a little stronger, and unfortunately Colin’s cappuccino was a little burnt. Colin took our cakes home and we had them as an after dinner treat and what can I say they were amazing!!! The cannoli was crunchy on the outside with a dusting of pistachio. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the name of the other cake but it basically looked like a bagel but tasted like a blend of croissant and donut, filled with coffee icing, topped with almond flakes-we really did fight over that one. Overall it scored a 4⁄5. For a more detailed scoring please see my full review on

I don’t know why but I was a bit skeptical of Eusebi when it first opened up(maybe cause I used to work in Sonny and Vito’s and suffer from natural suspicion of their competitors) but I have to say I really like it! One of my best pals and I have made a habit of breakfast dates, since as soon as I’m in the library for the day it’s pretty impossible to get me out again til bedtime, so I have to be forcibly wrenched from my bed an hour early to keep any sort of social commitment! We had some americanos which were small, but actually really nice! It’s Italian style coffee so it doesn’t have that nuttiness that you find with other independent coffee shops(papercup, pena, the steamie, artisan etc). Usually I find this kind of coffee either too watery or too acidic, but these were just perfect, a nice strong cup with good balance. We liked them so much that we ordered another two! We were planning on just having a coffee, but with the americano you get served a teeny square of custard filled pastry, and it was so good that we decided to order one and share! It was absolutely delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever had a custard filled croissant before, and boy have I been missing out! Lovely, authentic flaky pastry and a beautifully creamy crème patissiere inside, topped with icing sugar. It was totally divine. I’m not sure if they make their pastry from scratch but I think they must do, as this tastes totally fresh and flaky in a way you just don’t get with frozen stuff. Our 4 coffees and pastry came to 10.55 which i thought was pretty damn reasonable for a West End joint! They had lots of reaaallly nice looking salads, breads, pastries, tarts, and all the lovely things you’d expect from an authentic Italian deli. They really do have an impressive array of homemade goodies! The staff were lovely, very smiley and helpful and made us feel really comfortable. I’d say the standard of service here beats anywhere else for coffee on Gibson St. My only complaint was that when it comes to paying it’s not really clear where you should go– I went up to the counter and then a waitress came and asked if we wanted the bill after I had paid. It’s not terribly clear whether or not it’s table service or you order at the bar. But that’s a minor wee niggle and I’m sure if I had asked they would have made it clear, I’m just shy haha. All in all I’d say Eusebi is a fantastic addition to the area, and we’ve decided to make it a regular spot for our breakfast dates!

I really like this place. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful — every time I’ve been in I’ve had my son with me and they chat away to him, put up with the odd toy being thrown across the room(!) or offer to pop his buggy or trike in a store room out the way. The food on display is nothing short of a feast for your eyes! Fresh meatballs, lasagne, sandwiches, stuffed bread(AMAZING!!) and a cake counter to satisfy the sweetest tooth. So far we’ve been in for coffee and cake, a quick sandwich lunch and takeaway treats from the deli. I enjoyed every mouthful. The deli prices are also very reasonable at £3 for a chunk of lasagne & £2 for a stuffed bread. I can’t wait to go for a sit down meal and try the hot food. I don’t think they’ve got any highchairs yet so I’m afraid they’re losing a star from me.

I was in need of a hot drink and a little something extra after a long walk through the park. This was my first visit here and after placing my order I was offered a seat next to an open fridge, as if I wasn’t cold enough, there wasn’t a welcoming feel from most of the staff here apart from one guy who checked my table, and politely asked if l would like another coffee, Well done to Archie for that. I had the donut with a latte, it was all nice, I could see a real nice and tempting display of food in their fridges & a chef preparing fresh pasta. Overall 5 star service from Archie who was checking the tables, even though he hadn’t served me at the counter, he made up for the other staff that where avoiding the customers.

Very disappointed, after coming in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a takeaway lunch, to find out that an Italian deli has no pastas to offer. What is more, the counter was almost empty and a roll i decided to buy was old. I was left with no food after all. No doubt really nice food but not sure I will be coming back.

What a buzz there is in here. Not long opened but already very popular. Unfortunately, there’s no breakfast menu yet, but I’m told it’s on it’s way, soon! Not to worry I was satisfied with a delicious chocolate croissant. Delish. It’s a BYOB guys.

Eusebi is a real Glasgow institution. They have been serving up traditional fresh homemade Italian cooking and produce for years. But, if you have ever been hesitant about visiting the original store in deepest Shettleston, fear not as the owners have opened this absolutely stunning new and shiny deli in the heart of Woodlands. The new shop doesn’t fail to deliver either, continuing to sell great REAL homemade Italian food to go, such as rustic style pizzas, meatballs in ragu, roast chickens, grilled veggies and so on. It’s a perfect stop if you are late in from work and fancy a quick, healthy take away. They also have a fantastic selection of Italian cakes and pastries but these are usually completely sold out by the evening, so get in quick! The new store now also doubles as a restaurant. It has a really great, laid back café feel, like somewhere straight out of Italy really. I popped in with a group of friends and not knowing what to eat and being my usual famished self, we opted for a pretty huge selection of dishes. Obviously on the cards was gonna be pasta, and I opted for a prawn Bavette which was tasty and powerfully garlicky, but it was quite a small portion for the(perhaps) hefty £14 price tag. My chums chose more wisely, for example the meatball maccheroni was sublime, was a more generous portion, packed a better flavour and was more fairly priced. Other dishes I tried were a Roman Style Pizza«Pinsa». The dough was fabulous, kinda like a squashed ciabatta, perfectly leavened and crispy. At £11 for the Pinsa Calabrese,(mozzarella, potato, onion and sausage) I thought again it was a little steep, after all you can get a whole pizza in places like Paesano for half that price! Nonetheless it was delicious, even although it was slightly over cheesed for my liking. Being a self confessed Aubergineoholic I could not overlook a delicious Caponata side. Caponata is basically a stew of aubergine, tomato, olives, capers, pine nuts with a sweet and tangy vinegary hit. It was fantastic and reminiscent to what I’ve had in Sicily before. Our other side of Fritto Misto was again very small, and the batter wasn’t quite right so probably not worthy its £6 price tag. I have absolutely no doubt that this place will go for strength to strength as they suss out exactly what the West End clientèle wants. I visited just a few days after opening, and if its this good now, I am certain its gonna be a 5 start joint really soon. This is a great addition to the Italian dining scene and once again its fantastic to see places selling REAL Italian food rather than your boring Spaghetti Carbonara’s and the like. So its a big thumbs up from me and a grazie to Eusebi :)
