Elite Event @ Cocktail & Burger!

What a delightful evening of cocktails… and burgers, would you believe!!!
As always, a smashing event put together by Cap’n Awesome. Aside from the hilarity of human kerplunk, origami froggies, wolverine claws and pin the balloon on the Chris, the atmosphere of Cocktail & Burger as well as the tasty, tasty delectables that we were served made the evening a smashing success. Also fabby to hang with the Unilocaly gang!
I really loved the peach daiquiri I had, and having pinched some strawberry as well it’s safe to say I’m a fan of the alcoholic slushies! The sliders were amazing, so were the chicken skewers, and the mysteriously stealth fries went down a treat as well. For some reason, nobody seemed to be a huge fan of the chicken wings… I had two of them and found them quite tasty, but I really loved the coleslaw that was served with them! Yummy stuff!
After the freebies were done, my other half ordered some sort of hot dog thingy, some of which I pilfered. Soooo salivatingly satisfying! You can bet I’ll be back. Most definitely.

Unfortunately I missed the first cocktail, sad face. Bad traffic! Boo! Anyhoo I fortunately didn’t miss any food and I got another cocktail later on which we had to pick from a big long list of delicious options. It was a tough decision but a White Russian it was and it made a massive yum on the yum scale.
The food was super tasty, the chicken skewers, the tiny little slider burger, and the chicken wings. The burger was my favourite, I wanted more of that scrumptious beef patty so a little later I ordered the C&B burger with Martyn M. on the 2−4−1 deal. Nomtastic I say! By the way they also sell fruit beers. Yaaas!
The company was brilliant, good banter and met a few new Unilocal faces. Added touch of Unilocal balloons were great, especially as they were helium filled. Oh you knows it! We got our hands on them bad boys and had some lovely silly voices and singing. Belter!
A big thanks to Mr Chris D. for putting on another fab Unilocal event. With good quality food and drink held in an awesome find of a burger joint. I had been before so knew it wouldn’t disappoint and I can’t wait to go back to try their other options.

I had such a fab night here meeting the Unilocal crew for the first time. The food was wonderful, the cocktails even better! The peach daiquiri being a favourite — I’ll definitely be returning for one of those! I also love the sound of the pork burger but they didn’t have any left when greedy guts Bex ordered more food after the sample tastings! I can recommend the lamb one though! The staff were so friendly and the venue was full even on a Monday night! I can’t wait to go back!

oh yes. oh hell yes.
As one of my colleagues put it, «that’s an odd combination.» Well… yes, maybe. But damn, it was good.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Bier Halle brand. good pizza, interesting beer, although pricey. And as the son-​of-​bier-​halle, i was well-​disposed toward this place. I’m glad that it wasn’t misplaced faith.
I am going to complain a little that the cider is so expensive. I mean C’MON. it’s not that difficult to have a cider on draught, and bottles of Koppaberg are NOT THE SAME and ouch, pricey. But we seem to be the only ones who’ve experienced this, because everyone else has said how reasonably priced it is… go figure.
I really liked the fries and the slider taster burger, I think I’ll be back for the full sized version. Pineapple and Ginger cocktail was good, as was the peach daquiri, and the white russian — but the 99 problems glass seemed to raise a few scrunches in a few noses.
Oh! nearly forgot. the wee nook round the corner, covered with book wallpaper? like. like a lot. (Although the frying smell from the kitchen was a wee bit strong for my liking…)

Burgers? Yes, I like burgers.
Cocktails? Yes, I like cocktails.
Cocktail & Burger? That’s just crazy good.
Yet another really good event with great company in an establishment which, in my humble, serves the greatest burgers in Glasgow.
A sample of Thai style chicken skewer (or as I like to call them, chicken lollies), a tasty slider and chicken wings, not buffalo wings, everyone knows buffalos don’t have wings topped of with a cocktail from a choice of many. I was brave enough to try something I’d never heard of, 99 Problems. A surprising cocktail which looked creamy, but was actually sharp and fruity.
All of this plus the kiddies got to play games like, pin the balloon on the Chris and buckaroo (or place the skewers in Chris’ hair without him noticing).
Fantastic night, thanks C&B staff and thanks Chris.

Really lovely evening at Cocktail and Burger! I enjoyed the smooth blended drinks we started out with — especially the peach. The chicken skewers were good, but the burgers blew them out of the water! Here’s something I’ve never said in a review before: WHAT AMAZING BUNS!!! Seriously, they were fabulous! And the stealth fries were also outstanding — just the right amount of crispiness and a wonderfully moreish seasoning.
One thing I forgot to do before I checked out for the night was to look at the a la carte menu. Is there a veggie option? If so, I’d love to give that a go next time I’m in. Judging by the experience I had at this Elite event, my next visit to Cocktail and Burger will probably be VERY soon!

Another great Unilocal elite night, how does that waistcoat-​ed one do it?
So to anyone who has never been to C&B, its essentially some of the tastiest burgers Glasgow has to offer, set downstairs in a fab little venue.
Last night we were treated to a sample of the said tasty burgers, chicken wings, stealth fries and some form of tasty chicken on a stick! Oh and of course cocktails, I opted for the mojito (ask Scott W how that’s pronounced) which was refreshing and delicious. And that’s after we had all started with a daquiri (again pronunciation…) boy we were spoilt by the C&B crew last night!
And least we forget those fun new Unilocal Party Games (trademarking as you read this) including «Tie the balloon to Chris» and «Cocktail stick art». Oh you crazy Unilocalers…
I will, of course, be back. Well done guys, an excellent night was had by all!

What a wonderful event this was! It’s probably the most populated Unilocal event I’ve ever been to and it was great to see faces I’m used to and faces new! Big thanks to Chris and the staff at Cocktail and Burger for a fabulous event; what more could you want than cocktails, chicken wings, chicken skewers and burgers?!
If you’ve not been to C&B yet to experience their full menu, you are most definitely missing out on some amazing burgerage — possibly some of Glasgow’s best. Get in here now and eat! Oh, and order a side of popcorn mussels — ugh yummmm…

They say bad things come in threes so imagine my trepidation. Die hard 5 had let me down, Aliens: colonial marines (video game) was getting panned in the reviews and the only thing left on my social calendar was this event. Not for the rest of the year just to clarify, its not like i am a complete social outcast living vicariously through Unilocal events and reviews crying to my self as i scratch little review stars into my flesh with a needle and red biro… ahem
Now i know what you are hoping for that the event was horrible and my frail psyche was shattered but i say to thee NO, it was a resounding success.
I should point out that i don’t particularly like Cocktails but i do like burgers so there was a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance that i would only enjoy part of the evening however the drinks menu was chock full of options that you would have been hard pressed not to find something to drink.
The food was lovely giving a sample of what their full menu holds in store for when i inevitably return to try their highly praised burgers.
The company and chat where great, with only the cutting words of a certain mr Chris D tarnishing an other wise delightful evening. poor show sir, i give you 1 star ;)
All in all a 5 star event, Bravo to all involved.

So it had been a while since I’d returned to Glasgow and I’d been able to attend anything Unilocalish but boy, was it worth the wait! The buzz surrounding Cocktail & Burger is truly well-​deserved! We were spoiled rotten with slider burgers, chicken wings, chicken skewers and stealth fries. And not to mention the cocktails! Can I have a slushee machine?! I want to make alcoholic slushees at home! I tasted a strawberry dacquiri slush, a berry mojito and a pineapple and ginger martini and they were delicious! The burgers were amazing and I loved the brioche bun. And they’re really 2 for 1?! I will be back… and I will bring friends!

Hey, we all love this place.
Take this great food, add some amazing cocktails and balloons. Lots of Balloons.
Supposedly Chris got some grief waling through Glasgow looking like the house from Pixar’s Up.
But it was worth it.
Who does not like balloons and skewers turning your hands into wolverine claws?
Maybe I should do this like a cheesy Unilocal checklist?
Food — Good
Booze — intoxicating
Balloons — plentiful
Chris and Alisdair thanked? — mission accomplished
Job Done

Yet another belter of a Unilocal night! What a great place and great Hospitality.
Good call! Would I be tempted to come here in the future? TOO RIGHT!
Need to make sure I work my way through the cocktail list. The White Russian was awesome.
Only disappointment of the evening? Fiona. M didn’t serenade us with her usual helium vocal talents! Better get her off the cokes and back on the hard stuff me thinks.

Seriously, I’m running out of superlatives for this place. Have you seen my review? Those of you cynical enough may think that I was paid to write that stuff, but fear not, its all true, my love for C&B is real baby!
Having in the past, only scoffed burgers in various forms, it was great to try out some of C&B’s renowned cocktails. The cocktail list had a mix of classics and some neat inventions. Staff really did seem clued up and everything I tasted was fantastic.
Apart from the awesome burger, we were also treated to some yummy skewered chicken, the famous stealth fries and ultra crispy and delicious chicken wings. The hot sauce was fiery and smoky, and I loved it with the wings.
Yet another great night of chat, banter, food and drink. How does our CM keep pulling these off?

Sooooo my first event and i must say it was a cracker! Started off looking at all the Unilocaly goodness set out on the tables and i must say the word forthwith must be used more often! lol
Then commenced the event with daiquiris of which i chose the strawberry variety although i also tasted the peach one. It was absoloutely gorgeous, very fruity and zingy! Bring on the food!!! first thing was probably my favorite which was the chicken skewers, nicely spiced, quite hot and very tasty!
Then came the cute mini burger which was delicious, the meat was tasty and well coated with a nice assortment of veg too! Then came the best named things ever… STEALTH FRIES!!! Very crispy, well cooked, dried and seasoned with nice black peppercorns! They ended us with another drink of which i chose a berry mojito which was gorgeous o both look at and drink, very pleasing to the eye with the red colours and crushed ice!
It was so good i also went for a pimp hotdog! Very tasxty with gerkhins, mustard, cucumber and a spicy hot dog all in the middle! Very tasty!
I will definetely be back as i want more skewers and i qalso want to try the mussel popcorn next time i go!!!

This was my first Unilocal event and it was brilliant! It was great to meet the people at the event and C&B was a great venue. The food, in my opinion, was excellent. I am a big fan of burgers and so many places in Glasgow don’t quite get them right, but C&B serve some very tasty burgers. So good that myself and Bex ordered some sliders after the tastings!
I will definitely be back soon with some friends to enjoy more burgers and fabulous cocktails.

BURGERS! COCK… tails, haha, I am sorry. I could not resist. (I am weak). Anyway, what am I shouting about? Well two of my favourite things hot damn. Been wanting to go to this place as soon as I heard about it. Heard the burgers here are pretty darn tasty (‘best in Glasgow’ even…) and I do love a good cocktail. Slurp.
Chris D made the bum end of C&B look very Unilocaly indeed — with cool Unilocal balloons (I am still annoyed I didn’t get to take one home but as I was heading straight to the GFT after I don’t think the people behind would’ve appreciated having to sit behind a lassie with big blue hair & a Unilocal balloon. Ooft) and other Unilocaly goodies.
Not long after arriving we were welcomed with a choice of peach or strawberry daiquiri. I chose strawberry & it was niiiiice. Not long after the daiquiris came the chicken on a stick thang — I didn’t catch what this actually was but it was truly delicious. Then after the scrummy chook came the cute mini burger — It was sooooooo goooooood! Nom nom. I could’ve eaten like 6 of these mini burgers *drool* Having this wee taster for their super burgers deffo made me want to visit C&B again. Fo sure. Uh-huh.Later on we had some tasty chips/​fries ~ I only got a few but they were well good. Seasoned perfectly.
Upon sitting down I spotted a long list of cocktails & other beverages & I had joked to Chris ‘We get one of each, aye?!’ Haha. Oh behave. Chris D then gave me the death stare & mumbled something like ‘In yo DREAMS runner beans’ (summatlikethat anyway…) so I took that as a ‘No, you get to choose ONE wisegal’ So I did. I chose a Margarita, a fave of mine. Now I unfortunately had to keep an eyebaw on the time coz I had a date with Robert Florence and an Alien (as you do). Oh yes. So just before I was about to depart my cocktail came. I had to drink it as quickly as I could but I failed. I didn’t actually like the Margarita that much if I’m being honest; it had a strange taste to it… cannot describe it but it was unlike a Margarita as I know it. Shame. Still I had a Caipirinha whilst here earlier & that was delish so I’ll forgive them the dodgy Margarita.
Had another fun Elite event night — its always a blast and full of lovely people. I met the ever-​so lovely Colleen C and the fabulous Jen W kept us all amused with her Man-​Jenga and head-​balancing tricks :) Brilliant.
All in all a fab night, it may have been cut a bit short for myself but whilst I was there I enjoyed every minute. Big thanks to Chris D and the C&B dudes. I will return for more BURGERS! & COCKTAILS!
