For what I wanted on that occasion: a. shop open when I needed something(should be a normal day? well not in this part of town) and b. affordability it was perfect. You would never guess it was there, though unless you asked the locals! saved a really painful trip to silverburn(lots of extra unnecessary shopping, because you can’t just go to silverburn for one thing?) and supported a local business. what more can one want??? Also open on Sundays– bril!!!

On the few occasions when I’ve required a computer problem fixed pronto, this is the place I’ve went to. The staff are friendly, fast and seem to have an extensive knowledge of computers(as you would hope). The prices are good for those on a budget. Likewise, staff will honestly tell you the best treatment for your computer. If this is out of your price range, they’ll attempt to do a cheaper patch-up job for you. I can certainly say, I’ve seen a range of hardware stocked in here and I presume, that they are good quality for their prices. However, unlike Gareth, I have very little idea about computers so can’t really comment on it too much.

Since they are my local computer shop and repair centre, I have used Creative frequently, and find their services can be variable. They do have a good reputation, and the actual repair department are very impressive, as are the sales team. I am not always entirely delighted with the quality of online support, though: they can be slow to reply, and it is always better to go into the shop. Their lower end computers are not that impressive: my laptop was cheap, but has never been quite as fast as my old desk top, even though it has more power. On the other hand, my desktop is still going strong after three years, and they are a good place for additional hardware. I’d certainly recommend them if you are close enough to make a trip back to get things sorted out, but I am not sure that I’d use them over the Internet.
