I love costa coffee, I think they have the best coolers! There aren’t many in town, so I mainly go to the one inside Buchanan Galleries as it is convenient. It is a reasonable sized café with plenty of seats, but it can get quite busy so you might have to wait around at times before a seat becomes available. There isn’t really a door as it is just like a walk in situation so I wouldn’t really recommend if your looking to relax in a coffee shop with a book or something as there are lots of people around so the noise levels can be a bit on the noisy side. There is a extra seating area just outside the main shop as well which is quite nice for people watching, if your into that! I find it quite relaxing :) especially if you’ve been shopping all day. They have quite a large selection of foods as well, my favourite which I always get is the chicken and bacon toastie — I get this every time I go to Costa without fail! They also have other toasties, panini’s, breakfast rolls, and salads. They also have a wide selection of cakes also, I’ve never tasted the cakes before as i’m not really sweet fan so I can’t comment on how good or bad they are! They have a large selection of drinks too, my favourite is the mocha cooler or the chocolate cooler. I know, i’m pretty boring I always get the same stuff! I love Costa’s but this is getting 4 stars due to the location as it can be noisy and fairly busy most days.

Ok, so I know this is a big ‘booooo!’ on the coffee shop scale. Yeah, yeah Chris, preach about the independents and then fire into Costa… Well, here be my excuse. It’s xmas time. It’s city centre. It(me) is stressed out to all hell and back, and begging for some caffeine. Now the issue with needing coffee in the city centre is that most of them joints are the big and nasties. Finding an independent when your elbow deep in big brand shopping s nigh on impossible! So, yeah, that’s my excuses out the window. This place is just a big ol coffee shop that churns out your standard fare. We all know the score. Big coffees, snacks etc. The one thing about this place that drops it below the rest is the real state of the toilets in here. Being such a prime spot, I was pretty surprised that they were 1, small and 2, pretty damn dirty. So yeah. Not great, but not terrible.

A lovely branch of Costa with a lot of space both inside and ‘out’ where the tables and chairs spill out into the mall near to the escalators. The coffees and teas are lovely and the fresh cakes are delicious. Can I recommend the cherry and almond muffins and the iced gluten-free Christmas cake slices?!! Both taste even better than they look!!! The staff are friendly and very nice altogether it made it a great pleasure to come here today!

I am a huge Costa fan and this is a good store worth visiting. The only thing is that I have recently noticed some Costa stores being refurbished. I think this branch would be a lot better if it was given a refurb but I haven’t been in Glasgow for a good few months.

Hidden to the rear of the ground floor of Buchanan Galleries, behind the escalators, this little Costa is well worth a visit. The staff were friendly and helpful and appeared to enjoy their jobs, and the drinks are served quickly and with a smile. There is a good mix of tables and chairs with comfier mock-leather chairs towards the back and against the window, and patio-style furniture outside to give that pavement-café feel(even though the ‘pavement’ is indoors). I have visited a few Costas and generally have the hot chocolate, this one wasn’t the best I’ve ever tasted but the fact that I was able to get a decent seat when most other cafes were full more than made up for it! I imagine that this is mostly due to its location, tucked away as it is, for there is no other reason not to visit this café.
