Booked a room called to confirm details. Receptionist was so rude towards me that I ended up cancelled my booking with. Glad I did! Stay clear all together

I wouldn’t say this is the most foul place I’ve ever stayed but for reference the £10/a night hostel we came from in Belfast was a five star hotel in comparison. The wifi is great, free breakfast is abundant, and the kitchen staff is all very nice and accommodating. That’s about all I can say on the positive side. We booked a three bed triple and got a double and single bed instead and the man who checked us in said they don’t even have triple rooms! Ok, maybe that was a mistake on hostelworld’s website… We went to our assigned room and someone’s luggage was still there! Awkward but no big deal he moved us to another room. The sheets look clean but the room smells like a musty basement and the furniture is all very dated and SHABBY. It’s a cute building in need of some serious updating. The walls look dirty and I’m afraid the creepy dark blue carpets aren’t cleaned. Ever. The«closet» has wire hangers and smells like Indian food. And I love Indian food… Just not old Indian food stench in my room. That I paid £60 for. One other weird thing I didn’t agree to was that the guy at the front desk says when we leave for the day/night we are to leave our ROOMKEY with them at the desk while we are out. Are you kidding me?! I just told him I was not ok with that and took it with me. So basically if subpar overpriced rooms that are dirty, excellent wifi, free breakfast, and 24 security are what you’re into then stay here. Or stay at the B&B next door. Or any other one on the street.
