Lovely little café with on street parking just outside. Big booths that you can reserve and i would reccomend this at the weekend as it can get busy. Food wise this is your typical café … nothing too fancy but they do do daily specials and a 2 course set menu at night that you can byob too. Friendly staff and we have never experienced any rudeness that has been mentioned in previous reviews. Takeaway available and also they have started doing a local delivery service. Dog friendly too!

The staff are a bit rude and not very on the ball. The food is good but there is a long wait from when ordering. They do deliver a breakfast at the weekend which is handy when I have had a gin to many at the weekend. I find that the staff could do with some training especially when it comes to kids.

For a local café this place has fantastic value for money. I got a cheeseburger and the plate was full — homemade chips which were awesome and a side salad with the best coleslaw i think I have ever tasted. Definitely going back.

Awwww I love café Ludovic :-) it used to be my local, they do a lovely eggs benedict and i really enjoy their French toast and the bonus is THEYDELIVER well they do if you are in the south side. The prices are reasonable and the portions are decent and the staff are really nice too. I can only comment on their breakfast items but the food has always been top notch, I’m pretty sure they do BYOB too but you may want to double check that before you rock up with a bottle of the co-ops finest

I went in Café Ludovic with some friends last week. It was handy and we were visiting somone in the local hospital. The café is one the most appalling places I have ever visited. If I had been there alone I would have left immediately. The staff were astoundingly rude(to the point where I actually had to warn one of them to keep a civil tongue in their head). Slow surly service and food prepared with the cheapest of ingredients(saw a farmfoods bag being unpacked). Mediocre coffee at premium prices. Poorly microwave heated food(including pieces of the plastic packaging in my case). Avoid at all costs.

Café Ludovic is well known here southside for their great full breakfast at a reasonable price. It’s the best place for the morning after the night before, and no cleaning the dishes with the hassle of a fry up. Ludovics also do a good burger at lunchtime, but otherwise the menu is rather anaemic. Though what they do have is good. The café is always clean and appealing to eat there. I like the booths by the window which remind me of American diners.

A great café to pass the time away(when it’s not too busy). Good banter from the staff. I like to go places where everyone knows your name, and this is the place. The best coffee around in my book.

Terrible service. The entire café smells of grease which lingers on your clothes. My meal gave me tummy trouble later on. Skip this café and head elsewhere.

In walking past of an afternoon, I always seem to see people sitting and having something to eat outside Ludovic, but it wasn’t until very recently that I bothered to go have a sit and some lunch. The food is acceptable, though I must admit I didn’t have the fabled breakfast(it was 2:30 pm and I’d been up for hours already). The baguette was fab and the salad none too shabby… the prices were fairly reasonable too. However, I have to be another person who notes the aloof waitstaff, who were happy to greet pensioners and mums with wee’uns but who were rather chilly towards a twentysomething who’d clearly been out shopping.(No hoodie or tracksuit… maybe it’s my American accent?)

I used to go in here for breakfast and sometimes lunch, the standard of the breakfast rolls are pretty good and there’s also a large selection of homemade cakes which are rather tasty. You can sit in and do a spot of people watching too, it’s usually rather bustling especially round lunchtime where it seems quite popular with college students and local workers. The only downside are the staff who obviously haven’t gone to charm school and are a bit abrupt, no please or thankyous here.

When I lived round the corner I was a breakfast regular in here, a tiny little café which has a rather homely feel. As mentioned earlier their breakfast delivery service is without doubt a unique selling point, but I always prefer to go in and get it cooked fresh, that way I can ensure that my bacon is ridiculously crispy. Though i rarely strayed beyond a roll and bacon or black pudding, there are plenty other options and they do a lunch menu with paninis, lasagnes and all the usual suspects. There’s also a daily selection of cakes and pastries which all seem homemade, and I can heartily recommend a slice of the apple pie when it’s on. I would give the Ludovic a 5, but for one thing. Despite being a regular customer, I often seem to get a fairly frosty reception in here. It’s possibly because on most visits I’ve rolled out of bed and am clad in tracky bottoms and an old hoody, thus looking like a thief, but it might just be because they’re genuinely miserable.

A cosy little café off Battlefield Road, Café Ludovic is well known in the south side for its all day breakfast delivery service — the saviour of many the morning after the night before. For just £4.50 you can get yourself a cup of tea, and all the usual goodies(bacon, eggs etc) delivered to your door. To your door! Such a great concept. It doesn’t really matter what the café itself is like, because that is just brilliant. However, a sit in meal or a leisurely cup of coffee in the Ludovic is a genuinely charming experience. Its soup in particular is perfect for a miserable winter’s afternoon when there’s not much else for it but a good book and a bowl of soup.
