My review of AXM is all about Menergy – the amazing drag night at the club. I attended the #AAAGirls tour on the Sunday «matinée» show where doors opened at 6pm. The opening acts came on by 7:30 which was great as it meant there wasn’t a lot of waiting around. The local Glasgow girls were amazingly talented with more than one singing live rather than your traditional lip-​sync.
Then the main attractions came out: Willam, Courtney Act & Alaska each performed solo (again each singing live) before performing as a trio. I was stood right at the front by the pole so was up-​close and personal although I did have to lean and strain from time to time due to super tall people standing at the very front of the stage.
After the show, since I had VIP tickets, I joined the queue for the meet and greet. This was by far the worst part as we queued in a narrow hallway that led to the toilets that had no ventilation or air conditioning. It was hot, cramped and people kept squeezing in and out to use the toilets. The long wait in the hot, small space was less than ideal.
However then I got to have my photo taken with all three girls – Willam (shockingly) was the nicest and actually talked to me. Courtney and Alaska didn’t say a word but what can you do. I got a super cute photo and had an amazing night and was home before 10pm. Normally shows are on a Saturday night and the main act doesn’t come on until 1−2am so this was PERFECT for me.
I’m always amazed by the level of international talent Lady Munter gets to perform at Menergy – all the top RuPaul’s Drag Race girls have made an appearance but I was pleasantly surprised at the level of home-​grown talent, too! I can’t wait for my next Menergy night.

I haven’t been to a club in a while (I’m old now) but we went to go see Sharon Needles as we have a very serious Drag Race addiction. The friend I went with doesn’t really like crowds and prefers to stay in rather than going to a club so we were in for an interesting night.
We actually ended up having a great night. Drinks are a bit on the expensive side on a Saturday night but I wouldn’t expect anything else in the city on a weekend. A tray of shots were always doing the rounds as well if you didn’t want to wait in the bar queue. Every staff member inside we spoke to was lovely and really friendly. A small downside was a small argument with a bouncer my friend had when we were waiting for a lift as she was standing under the cover as it was raining.
All in all though I did have a good night. It was fun but not something I will be doing every week.
Can’t wait for the next night of Drag Race Queens!

I’m part of a group who hire the upstairs of AXM once a month and the space is great. There currently redecorating upstairs and each time we go we see a vast improvement.
The bar staff always make an effort to dress up and get involved and that make such a difference to the event. The prices are reasonable however sometime the Tennants on draft is a little off. I’ve only been here on a night out once since it changed from Bennats which was a Thursday, it was pretty empty but we still had a nice time.

Just not my idea of a great night out, wasn’t overly fond of the music, not everyone in Glasgow likes drag queens night after night, I thought the ‘chav’s’ night was a bit lame as well, and a bit of an insult to Glasgow, they are not overly fond of constructive criticism either, a few people made suggestions of raising money for their charity nights to local charities, and they had their comments removed and blocked. I give this place another year if that tbh!

Ok, so the club space itself deserves 5 stars. It’s pretty sweet with a couple floors for different themed clubs. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that the drinks were weak, super tiny, and overpriced for what they give you. They also advertised a £2 beer special and after being open an hour and a half with about 10 people inside they were magically out of it.
The other issue was in regards to the night’s theme & music with «Funky house tunes». We stuck around until 1:30am waiting for the «Funky house tunes» but heard only straight up pop music with a remix or two thrown in.
To leave the review on a good note, the lighting design was pretty cool.

Having recently moved into the old Bennets and revamped the placethis is a MUST visit club. Very friendly club, reasonable drink prices and always promos on throughout the week. Very reasonable entry prices. I have to give this place ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for effort, friendliness and you are always made to feel welcome by not only all the staff but the friendly bunch of people that have come here in the short time it has been opened in Glasgow!!!
