I love coming to this place as my wife has to eat gluten free, they have a good menu to choose from. The staff are all very friendly and the service has always been excellent. If you go on to the Ask Italian website and register your email address you will get various offers as well as a good discount come your birthday!

I can’t put my finger on why I like the food here, but I think I’ve found one thing on the menu I like and I keep popping in having the same thing. I’m don’t go in often enough to know for sure though. Most recently, like most people, I popped in pre cinema with my wife and a pal. I had a pizza and olives on the side. My only criticism was the olives were a bit on the under ripe side for my tastes. You can get some bi discounts in here if you box clever. So all in all not too bad!

Lovely modern Italian that is super handy for the cineworld or maybe a stop off before heading home as its right beside the bus station. I was lucky enough to have a voucher for 40% off a main course which was brilliant as we could try some of the more expensive dishes! I was happy to see that most of the pizza and pasta dishes can be made gluten free which was quite a large range. I chose the chicken and mushroom risotto which was delicious and chocolate amore for dessert. Melt in the middle hot chocolate with a scoop of ice cream and again was gluten free! Service was fast and friendly and generous portions means I would definetly return!

I’ve been into Ask Italian a couple of times now when visiting the Cineworld on Renfrew St and found myself in need of a quick bite to eat. It’s your standard Italian chain restaurant and if you don’t expect anything more than that you’ll have a satisfactory dining experience. The menu is made of the standard fayre you’d expect in a place like this, a variety of pizzas and pastas with a few meat and salad options as well. On my first visit I had the tomato and pepper risotto and while it was quite plain it was tasty and filling. My second visit I decided to try the carne sourdough pizza, the toppings were a little underdone and it wasn’t as warm as it could be(I think they’d been waiting for my companions food to be ready), but other than that it was pretty good. The base was nice and crispy and I particularly enjoyed the rage that was included amongst the toppings. My friend tried one of the specials, a carbonara primavera, which I stole a bit of and really enjoyed. The added asparagus gave it an interesting flavour. We also ordered a side of rosemary and sea salt bread which was really tasty. Both times I’ve been in the staff have been friendly and helpful and our food was delivered reasonably speedily. Overall it’s not a place I’d been running to for a special meal or authentic Italian but for a quick, reliable meal it’s a decent option.

Nae bad. Good location is the USP here really, where I can’t say I particularly share the enthusiasm of most people on Di Maggios(across the road). Student discount played a pivotal role in our journey here, where yours truly had a delightful caesar salad that had an interesting and tangy ceasar salad which is always a sign of being homemade. My missus had a pasta, because she actually likes Italian food, and it was a great portion which ended up an empty place. Would like to try a pizza next time around, but fear they are on the expensive side of things. Handy.

I love Italian food! Coming into this restaurant I loved the atmosphere and it was super busy! I came here with my boyfriend and we REALLY wanted to give it four stars but there were some issues. It is in a great location, our waitress was happy, personable, and super friendly. Plus, our food was really good and desert was amazing! Their downfall was that It seemed to be a bit understaffed, ur waitress had about 10 tables, which is unreasonable but she handled it well. Our food came out and wasn’t hot, mainly because of the staffing issue. I would come back though. Overall it was great!

Had dinner here as it was handy for the cinema across the road and was seeing a film later. Two of us shared the stuzzichini(a small nibble platter of cheese, olives, salami and tomato crostini) and a good old classic bruschetta to start. The bruschetta was okay, but a bit disappointing if comparing to the bruschetta served at many other Italian restaurants in the city in the same price range. The topping tasted like it probably came pre-made rather than being made from fresh tomatoes on the premises. Followed this up with pizzas(verdure and calzone con carne picante) which were tasty enough and filled us up. Kind of the same standard as you’d find at a chain Italian like Pizza Express, etc. The service was acceptable but not particularly warm or welcoming, and the constant sound of cutlery being clattered around by a member of staff was a bit off-putting… It was okay but for the same price you can get a much better Italian meal nearby.

I think this restaurant is pretty new to the area, as I’ve got the honour of adding it to Unilocal!Fairly competent chain Italian restaurant, very nice white interiors, in a very handy location for a quick pre-concert meal(right behind the Glasgow Royal Concert hall). The lukewarm star rating probably should have been put in the context of it being 6pm on a very busy Saturday, when the restaurant was heaving with Christmas shoppers, and those without a booking had a half hour wait. With that said, I was slightly surprised to see two elderly ladies be allowed to decline their perfectly good booked table for two, and instead hog a massive booth that could have seated 10 people(for example the two parties of five that were pleading for space when I arrived.) Despite having booked, our service was slow(due mainly to the waitress having too many people to wait on). Some of our party were also kept waiting at the door for about 5 minutes before managing to explain that they had a booking, the end result of all this being that our meal was a bit rushed. It also didn’t help that my portion of Bucatini All’amatriciana was HUGE and roasting hot, leading to the feeling of participating in a Man vs. Food challenge to try and get any of it down before we had to leave. My other half’s Penne Al Pollo Della Casa was judged ‘solid, but something I could have easily done at home’. The rosemary bread I had for starters was pretty lovely though. However, if you’re getting more excited about the bread that the main courses in a restaurant, is that a good thing? Would I come back? If they got more waiting staff(or fewer staff whose primary function seems to be walking aimlessly back and forth carrying kitchen implements), then possibly.
