I’m going to disagree with the previous two reviews; I like this place! Plus, the door was wide open when I arrived, so no buzzing in involved at all. The lady was perfectly friendly, and was happy for me to just have a browse. I thought that they had a great selection of paintings — and that the gallery itself was decorated very welcomingly. No art piled up on the floor here — which is a great big benefit in my book. The art itself is varied in style and price. Pieces range in price from hundreds of pounds to thousands of pounds — so everyone should be able to find a piece they love within their budget.

The Art Exposure Gallery claims to be «informal and friendly» but as Lewis mentioned, every time I have passed by the owner has been buzzing people in which isn’t really what I’d call friendly! Most of the time the place looks closed so unless you were really keen and knocked on the window to be let in you would probably walk by this gallery without giving it a seconds thought. The Art Exposure Gallery sells contemporary work by both established and up and coming Scottish artists. If you are looking to get in at ground level on the potential next big Scottish art thing then this is a good gallery to go to. I am not art expert but I didn’t find anything which stood out at this gallery though. Contemporary really just means that the artist isn’t dead yet and doesn’t necessarily mean that you can expect to see anything ground breakingly unusual here. The work exhibited does change on a monthly basis though so it could be that I visited during an uncharacteristically bland month!
