If you use Apple products, and especially if you have for a while, then you would know what to expect at the Apple Store: great products and friendly and knowledgable staff. And of course, since it’s Glasgow then the staff are even friendlier. I have been to the Genius Bar at this store for help on my current phone, a previous phone and my really old macbook. I often end upcoming here as it can prove difficult getting Genius Bar appointments at the Buchannan Street store. On each occasion they helped me solve issues that I may have had and they solved them quite easily. In fact, on my last trip it turned out that it was easier to completely replace my phone under warrantee rather than have it repaired… so I had no complaints. This is a great store and easy to get to with the free parking at Braehead… of course, that’s if you’re lucky enough to find parking on a Saturday like we did.

A single crack from the top to side appeared on the screen of my 13 month old cellular enabled I pad air. Cost just over £700.00. I could not work out how it happened but there it was. Contacted Apple via on line chat on 25÷1÷15 and it was booked in for following day, cost of replacement screen to be £256.00 which would take 2 hours. Attended today and was dealt with by A young lady did, nt catch her name, but subsequent e mail of this transaction from Apple gave this employee number as 299256308. She examined the device and immediately explained that the repair would not be carried out, but instead they would replace the I pad at absolutely no cost to me. Being rather taken aback, but absolutely delighted the lady explained that although the device was out of the warranty Apple honours up to two years, consumer laws and as there was no impact damage to the screen they would treat this crack as a faulty unit. All I can say is if you are thinking of getting a mobile phone/I pad whatever, then get an Apple product who would ever have thought that that this would have happened

I wouldn’t go out of my way to hit up this location over the Glasgow city centre one. It’s a regular mall Apple store and pretty boring overall.

Okay the staff when approached where very friendly. The shops layout is terrible you cannot possibly tell where to purchase your device their is no sign for a till so i had to ask a member of staff. When i went over to the so called till stood their and their was 3 members of staff behind it, i waited and waited for about 6 – 7 minutes until one of them asked if i was okay, so i ordered my i-phone from the till eventually ! But the shop is very confusing and too big, I would also reccomend the new I phone 5s great piece of technology.

We had picked up a gift card for my dad’s birthday at the Glasgow Buchanan Street store but they only had the gift card and no card holder(which explains the card and has space to write the value as well as a message for the recipient). Whilst at Braehead, I decided to pop in to the Apple Store whilst my wife was shopping elsewhere and managed to explain the situation to a member of staff. The staff member understood the situation and disappeared for a short while before returned with the item I was looking for. Apple pride themselves in customer services and this member of staff certainly upheld that ethos.

Not impressed. I took my MacBook Pro here for repair work. Note that the laptop is out of warranty. The display unit malfunctioned causing the backlight to stop working… anyway — I took the machine to the Genius Bar and they informed me of liquid damage. Impossible. It’s impossible as the machine is constantly kept in a carry case and has not been subject to any water or liquids. I was quoted an initial £180 for a new display unit. Fine. However 40 minutes later this became £690 as they felt that to be on the safe side’ I should replace not only the £18013 inch display but also the 300 quid logic board and processor along side a new lithium battery. In total the repair would cost £690. I can’t afford this. When I pointed out to apple that the devices which malfunctioned were what they replaced only three months ago the genius then brought out an agreement saying that in the case of repaired parts done under warranty become faulty, the liability falls under accidental damage and therefore apple are not to be held liable. Absolutely raging.
