The Mother’s Day menu here was rather nice. Being sat up stairs I was able to enjoy the décor and attention to detail with my mum. On the menu was a decent selection of foods, all of which are available on the a la carte. I went for the chefs special arancini(risotto balls), and pollo Milanese. The arancini I found to be slightly bland, needing a flavour kick which was provided with the chilled ragu sauce. The balls themselves were not hot in the middle, more luke warm and stodgy, and that coupled with the chilled ragu sauce could have been unpleasant for some as the whole plate was rather cold. For me I didn’t mind. I added some black pepper and enjoyed. My mum had the classic minestrone, which she found to be lacking pasta and rather thicker than usual. For the main, we went for spaghetti carbonara and pollo Milanese. Both were delicious and special compliments for the caserecce Napoletana. No complaints there. Overall Amore ditalia made for an enjoyable and charming dining experience, one I would enjoy again and again. Sumptuous décor and seamless service made for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

They now have a breakfast\brunch menu so we thought we would check it out on this rainy Sunday morning. It was fairly quiet whilst we were in with only a few others — it should be busier! I didn’t want anything too heavy so went for the poached eggs on toast and added beans on the side. Now I am not a fan of eggs poached in water with vinegar added so asked for this to be avoided — this wasn’t a problem for the lovely waitress. It came and was nice — you can’t really expect more from a dish like that although the toast was separate which was slightly strange. My boyfriend went for the amore breakfast which was huge — sausages, bacon, black pudding, potato scones etc and he thoroughly enjoyed(whilst I looked on with some serious food envy!!) The breakfast was a total bargain at £4 — my breakfast actually cost more as I was charged £1 extra for the beans! But overall the bill was £12 for the food with a coffee/tea each. This is much cheaper than some of the other places nearby. I would recommend checking it out.
