The food was fantastic, however we had booked a table and were left waiting in the waiting area for almost 30 minutes. We had drinks and poppadoms here, which I really would have rather eaten at the table. Strangely, when we were seated, half of the restaurant was empty. I think they were waiting for a table for two to free up, but there were plenty of other empty tables. The food choice is great. For vegetarians there is a lovely paneer dish, as well as lentil and sweet potato dishes. Something a bit different from the usual bog-standard stuff. The mango chutney is freshly made, and the rice and bread is a generous serving. Overall, the food here is very impressive and the service is good. I just feel like we were not looked after very well and shoved in the corner for half an hour and it spoilt the experience for me. I would definitely recommend you try it though, hopefully the same will not happen to you.

Not to be confused with the now closed Asha Raval in Newcastle quayside. This is just across the Tyne bridge on Gateshead side(1st left after bridge; next to radio station) Amazing starters with a real upmarket feel. Too quiet for the quality of starters but perhaps that is due to the funny times we have been. Very short main course list but what there is is tasty too. The restaurant had slightly too loud music each time we went and they were happy to turn it down without any fuss. You can see the food being prepared which is always reassuring. Why so few stars I poned and asked for a quote for corporate evet(ie bookig out restaurant) no sesible telepone cotact occurred then they phoned me 2 days before event wnating to know if we were ready to book!
