Zyka

I have just enjoyed a lovely Chicken Tikka Biryania here and it was one of the best I have had. I am visiting relatives in Formby and we wanted to go out for a meal somewhere and chose this one as they have had take always from here. In my opinion the meal for 3 was very good value, would recommend if you enjoy Indian food.

Hidden upstairs above several other shops and slightly away from the rest of the village, it’s easy to forget about Zyka when thinking about the local Indian restaurants in Formby.
As with Italian restaurants, Formby is hardly spoilt for choice when it comes to Indian restaurants, with there being two in the village itself even discounting the nearby Shanti restaurant.
However, I recently visited here for a meal as an alternative to going to the Balti House and was pleased with the quality of the food that we had. Zyka boasts an award-​winning chef that creates signature dishes unique to the restaurant itself and this is reflected in their food, which is both spicy and full of flavour. When I went I ordered the ‘Special Murgh Bahar’, which was chicken breast stuffed with mince lamb to create a dish that was interestingly diverse and very tasty, which I would highly recommend.
The price of a meal can add up with all the extras (as most good Indians do) but if you’re looking for an alternative to the Balti House whilst remaining in the immediate village area, Zyka is an excellent place to visit.
