Gurkha Palace Folkestone

My fiancée and I came here on the recent Valentine’s weekend. Not having been here before, we booked on the phone around lunchtime for an evening spot. Good job we did as the place was heaving. We were soon to discover why.
We had starters of traditional Nepalese momo, which is dumplings with a spicy sauce, and prawns, both of which were delicious.
Mains was a fish and meat-​style grill and the Sherpa Kukhura, a hot curry-​type dish made with chicken in a surprisingly creamy sauce. Both were absolutely outstanding.
Wine was very reasonably priced so we tucked into 2 bottles of Chablis and I tried the Nepalese beer, which was exceptional.
Service and staff were polite and very friendly and the overall experience was absolutely outstanding.
I’d strongly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
