The Jade Jones Pavilion Leisure Centre

I’m devastated by the news that Flint leisure centre is to be taken over by Alliance leisure services.
Their plans to spend 2.5 million on the centre will eventually come out of the public’s pocket. It’s nothing more than a cooperate takeover. The centre should never have been taken out of council hands. If there were problems they should have been managed in the past.
Alliance leisure’s plan to re-​develop the children’s play area has already been done locally and failed. We don’t need an 8 lane bowling alley; we have them in Chester and Ellesmere Port.
With council investment you could have had your fancy mezzanine floor and doubled the sports hall capacity without ruining existing facilities.
In one foul swoop you have destroyed a venue that catered for Men’s circuit training, women’s keep fit, badminton and dance events. Much to my displeasure you have removed the facility to use the gym and health suite. Also to be taken away is the facility to use the health suite and have a swim.
I have used this facility in the past in conjunction with physiotherapy, now we will have to leave Flint to use such a facility in the future. It took 39 years to destroy the leisure centre but it looks like you achieved it without a single public vote.

Needs updating and cleaning! refurbishment has been needed for a while now!

I teach yoga in the centre come and try it everyone can do yoga it’s not complicated. Wednesday morning 10am to 11.30am
Thursday evening 8pm to 9.30.

There is lots going on at this leisure centre — childrens swimming pool is great. There are plenty of classes for everyone, and ‘jungle jims’ soft play is good for little ones. There is a crèche so you can attend a class without your child and pick them up when you have finished. My only problem is that the toilets never seem very clean both inside the pool area and in the reception.

A good leisure centre which run lots of different activities including aerobics, swimming, Tae Kwon Do to name just a few. You can have children’s parties there in the play centre upstairs. The café serves a variety of food and is not bad at all and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking available on site. Run special swimming courses free of charge during school holidays which are great.

A nice leisure centre with a large pool and plenty of other facilities. Also have a fitness centre and a café.

A good leisure centre with a decent pool and café; a good sized function room; sauna, gym and tanning room. It also has a soft play area and caters for childrens’ parties
