This has to be one of the best farm shops I have ever been to. They pretty much sell every thing, food from all over the world, Lucky Charm’s, Steak Sauce, Vegimite, local wines, local beers, a wonderful selection of cheese and cured meats, fresh bread daily, local fruit & veg and when your done shopping, head to the café, nice coffee and good for a spot of lunch. Once you have shopped here you won’t want to shop anywhere else. Next door is a fish monger and a wine merchants which are also worth a visit.

I challenge anybody visiting this place not to buy something. It’s a wonderful array of good food, including organic, foreign, exotic and unusual, plus the normal every day things with a great twist — such as pasta as you’ve never seen it before. All the delicatessen food is fresh and nicely packaged. The staff are helpful and always full of information. Did you know that they have a smaller shop in Faversham, but equally good quality. It is in West Street and features a smaller range than the main store, but they are happy to order anything from the main store to be collected at the in-town store. Far superior quality than your average supermarket and of course you can buy only one tomato if that’s all you need.

I could spend a fortune in this place(and have done on numerous occasions) Massive selection of imported goods means you can usually find those hard to find ingrediants at Mackenade. The deli counter is very good and they do let you try before you buy too!

This is a real foodie heaven. Quite a large place now with a great selection of fruit and vegetables, including unusual things you won’t see in the supermarket. It also has a good selection of breads and cheeses. A good place to visit before Christmas as it’s full of gift ideas for those who love their food and drink.
