My wife and I have eaten two meals at the Coach. We went there for a dinner date, and had breakfast this past weekend. So far, we are quite enamoured with the Coach. For dinner, there is a broad spectrum of tapas to pick from that were all quite tasty. My wife ventured into dangerous territory in ordering the nachos. Pity us, for we are Americans with a hankering for Mexican food that can’t be sated on this island. Sad that this turned out to be the typical Red Leicester on Dorritos with pickled jalapenos that is so typical of nachos in England. Apart from the Nachos, all the food was quite tasty. The dinner atmosphere was trying to be urban and chic, but not in a way that annoyed me. The music was loud, but not overbearing. And even though the rest of the evening crowd were there for drinks, we didn’t feel at all out of place. For breakfast, the omelets were delicious, and the scrambled eggs fluffy and light. On both occasions, we’ve found the staff to be pleasant, engaging, helpful. For breakfast, we had our 2-year-old son with us, and we could not have felt more welcome. I read recently on another site that this used to be a pub, and someone was bemoaning the loss of another pub with real ale, blah blah blah. Get over it… pubs are everywhere. If you want real ale, go to one of the 5000 other pubs in Farnham. If you want something different from a typical pub crowd, pub food, pub atmosphere, try the Coach.
